well i had a '04 excursion and it was time to downsize. i found a amazing one owner older ladys 2001 fully loaded V8 AWD explorer 73,500 miles. every option side airbags,backup sensors,sunroof,air ride...plus has a $3,000 sound system in it..hidden 10" sub in a stelth box in place of stock, 8 disk changer in the console, amp under rear seat and a nice headunit.
i absolutly love it and the gas bill will be much less!
the garage has more room now,

i like the awd i've gotton used to it in our other explorers and it really doesnt make much differance in mpg.
i've been so upset over selling the excursion..very emotional! the only thing thats seemed to help is spending money on mods for the explorer lol

the intake didnt happen, they were out of stock. 
but so far, new tails, heads/corners, 55w HIDs, tuner and i put a flowmaster 40 series delta on.
i picked it up last monday evening...i have allready put over 500 miles on her!! i'm getting used to it...i still miss my excursion so much
getting the stock muffler hacked off, also got to take a good look underneath...very clean/dry!
at hatchers pass alaska on a awsome road over the moutain i plan to drive the whole thing somtime. did not have a digi cam so crappy phone cam.
right by bird creek, alaska w/the new mods on
but i will say...I LOVE THIS COLOR!!!! it hides the dirt soooooo well!

Really nice Explorer. I have had 3 (plus an Ex) and absolutely love them. I really like the exterior color and there is some nice scenery in the background.

nope she has a 5.0 302 in it. the 4.6 did not come in explorers untill 2002-up.
i'm pretty happy with the MPG, power could be alittle more so hopfully i'll get an intake and maybe headers soon. the headers cost a pretty penny though.

took a day trip to seward, alaska today. about 250miles all said and done. got 16.9mpg on the way down with a few 100mph runs and wot passing. good weather. had lunch down there and headed home. think i may have gotton 17mpg on the way back i'm not sure yet i need to fillup again.
