but i'm an explorer guy at heart, we have 7-8 of them now i love the little things...just miss my big beast!
Having read the story, if it's worth anything to you, I happen to think you made a very wise decision. One with a LOT of HEART in it.
Financially- you pulled your but out of the fire for a while and gave you and the family some breathing room. Financial stress is a killer You reduced several outlays of cash all at one time, and at the same time, managed to pick up something else to drive that you really love, and is paid in full.....gotta be a good feeling!
From the heart- You took care of a stranger in thier time of need.
At the same time, made a family with kids very happy. You were looking out for someone else, not just your own interest. A very commendable move
Although not as plentiful as they once were, they're still out there. As fuel prices soar again one day, they'll come down in price again.
When the time ie "right", you'll find another one and probably be in a better place financially.
It's said frequently, that Karma is a bitch!
But what's left out is, it can also be a blessing
Sounds like you've got some good Karma coming your way
Best of luck with the new ride....subscribed to your thread on EP.

well thank you very much...and for the honesty
i went back and forth on what to do for over a month...also checked in with work just about every day to see if it was going to get any better...it isnt and hasnt i just got my worst check yet...it will cover my insurance and a tank or 2 of gas then i'll be into savings its just bad right now.
i did what i had to do and do i regret it? sure! i loved that truck so much. but right now bigger things then a truck mattered as much as i wish they didnt
Sounds to me like you have your priorities right where they should be! It must have been a very tough decision, but sounds like you made the right one for you at this time!
Wow that is a nice ride, your acts of goodness and selflessness is inspiring. You are wiser than your age. Hope everything works out and the job picks up.
I was looking at a programmer... how'd the SCT do for you? Can you enlighten me on.
i thought i'd update this, even though i nolonger have the truck. i have become very good friends with the family that bought it. they are great people! they are taking care of my baby, they cant keep her as spotless as i did with 5 kids and living out where they do its just not possible but i understand. but i was able to drive it today!! made me miss it, but it also made me miss my '00 thats wrecked and waiting repair.
anyhow it now has 105k miles on it and has only needed a alternator since they bought it with 96,260 on it. regular oil changes and thats it...she absolutly loves the fact its lifted on 20s and has HIDs so that makes me happy to know i helped them through a rough time. she still has not settled her medical claim from her wreck which totaled her '04 excursion.
AK; So what is that bottom scene about where superman emerges out of the back (formerly Clark Kent, mild man and reporter) and someone is running up smoking a cig. ? Just curious.
lol the lady with the cig is the mom, who bought the truck. the super man is one of her daughters.
B-uno its actuly not too bad,a good detail would make it look like brand new.
Sorry, it just struck my funny bone. .........Looks like she just changed her outfit and stepped out................but that was before your time and that's definately not Lois Lane with the cig..
