Last night I filled up after my first real tank was burned through the truck without a lot of driveway running. I got 8.5 MPG. I have a 390, Holly 600 4bbl, 35" tires.
How does that compare to you?
Maybe this next tank of gas I will stay out of it so much.
I have a 302 with 2b carb 2wd.I get about 15-18 or so.Im thinking of going to a 351.Im going to see what people with them post their mpg to help decide.
Here. I did a little search and found all of these threads on mpg. There's no need to discuss this again, as all the data you're looking for is in these threads.
Why are you all still talking about this? The 5 previous threads (with hundreds of responses) that I posted of everyone talking about their gas mileage isn't enough? Really?
Let me wrap it up for you. If you own one of these trucks you will get between 6 and 14 mpg (those are the outside limits, usually it's 8-12) unless you're doing something really different to change this (like getting rid of 1000 lbs and/or running a 6 cyl). I don't understand why this conversation comes up so often. If mpg is so important, buy a car!
Sorry about the rant, but I really believe that this is one of the least worthwhile conversations we could be having.
