i agree if some people think there:s a thread that may have being repeated or you don:t like the content "pass it by" whats the sense of having a live forum? i:m sure every question ever asked from day one could be searched, and every question will be asked again and again from new and senior members alike stuff like that is supposed to be fun and isn;t this what this forum is supposed to be about?

It gets old seeing the same questions over and over and over and over and over and over... yadda yadda yadda.

You know if someone with half a brain logged on to the 73-79 forum after being in the garage with a truck that won't start and actually LOOKED at the first page for once they might see a half dozen other posts on the exact same problem.

"Hmmm... my truck won't start... well lookee here 14 other guys are having the exact same problem... well maybe I should READ those posts and see what's up.... Nah, I'll post a new thread, my problem is more important."

Puh-leez, guys just need to take the time and read a little before posting frivolous garbage. And on top of that actually communicate the actual problem, what happened before the problem and what was done to rectify the problem. Not create a new post and just say "my brakes suck, please help"

Gets old.

Why do you think the hydroboost threads were so popular? It's because it's a fairly new idea and it isn't a bunch of knuckleheads trying to get their truck started after they re-arranged the spark plug wires to make them "more pretty"

haha this is entertaining..
well I think the moral of the story is as long as guys like us are working on our trucks,,,, we will continue to always have question..
one side of the story is you could actually search the subject and chances are you will find numerous posts well... in this case about 5 or 6. but details details.....
but the other side of story is there are times where somebody has a quick question that can honestly be answered with 1 or 2 replies..when its 4:30 and nappa closes at 5:00 i would be willing to start a quick thread to get an answer so i could make it to the mud bogs the next day.... done it 3 or 4 times
i find if funny when somebody replies asking why something is being discussed so much,, well read the thread.... chances are 3 out of the 4 pages in the thread are compiled replies of people asking the same thing .. LOL my self included...dont get mad just doing some preaching is all.. and i say this almost every time this happens. get off the computer and work on your truck you guys are to old to be PMS'ING..

Dang, now I really want to know if I can put a Cummins in my high boy (is it really a 'high boy'?) and what kind of gas mileage it will get!

I agree, the same questions will keep coming up no matter what, but it's a good reminder that the search function exists. It's helped me a bunch.

i can see why so many threads get doubled up, but really whats new? and secondly who cares? (don't read a doubled up thread, simple as that,)

first there are new users or not so active users who weren't online when old threads where still new and active, thus they have no previous knowledge of a old thread,

also there are some users who either don't bother or don't like using the search option, i for one try to use it, but i mostly get a number of threads that have nothing to do with what i searched, which is a pain and it gets old fast,

also there is no point in injecting hostile comments or aggressiveness on here, or rudeness or sarcastic comments, i know some people seem to really enjoy dishing it out on here behind a computer screen, which is really sad, now i am not naming any names, just something i have noticed from a wide range of sites on the internet,

so in the end who cares if a thread is doubled up multiple times, i know i will see how to lower my truck thread and anyone put a cummins in a dentside or how many MPG does your truck get, threads over and over again, or the help my truck won't start, or my brakes are bad what should i do?

these will all get posted again and again, because these are things people want too do, they want to get a few extra MPG's and they want to convert there truck to 4x4 and they want (for some reason) too lower there trucks! and they want to put in diesel engines and many other mods, and many people will just post a thread with there trucks problems and say "can anyone help me?"

which is fine, that's what this site is about, people need information, and there are a number of users who have the knowledge and are quite helpful, which is great,

also i find some users get knocked or ragged on for posting on a dead thread or a old thread, some users need too know just a little bit more, and thus they have to post on that 4-6 year old thread, then they get people responding back with, "you know this is a 5 year old thread" and then possibly no help,

so if you search the old threads and then need more info to clear things up, and you post on a old thread, you get attacked, and if you start a thread that has been done 6 times before you still get ragged on, because you didn't want to post on a dead thread? seems odd to me,

so please will everyone stop the harsh comments, just add your info, and links too old threads, and leave it at that, don't try and cause a conflict, its not worth it, trust me,

i understand word comments alone can come off harsh, even if the person on the keyboard didn't intend it to come off that way, that's why its a challenge to even comment with text, because different people read things different ways, i mean there is no vocal tone, people can't tell if your serious or just joking,

so now that i did my rant, i think we can all move forward, and expect many more doubled up threads, also i think the search feature is one of the main headaches, since people get turned off by the fact they can't even find what they want, which leads to all this mess,

and may i say i would like to thank all the users of this site, they are well informed and generally are all really nice, so lets get back to what this site is all about! FORD TRUCKS!

If there were no double up of threads, than all the questions would be answered and there would be nothing to do. Try going to a site where no one really visits and sit and stare at the screen just hoping someone pops in and asks a question. I usually read the repeated threads because there may be some new idea out there.

BTW, I get about 4-5 MPG with the 521 Cornburner.

exactly bucks77ford, anyone can simply go to some other not so popular areas on this very site, there are some real dead areas, where nothing happens,
