smobody told me that a 360 will only get 8 mpg and if you ride it hard that mpg will go to gpm, ive been getting so many mixed oppinions on mpg of ford trucks.
will sombody tell me what they get with there mid range fe(352, 360, 390)???
please
I only got 8 with my original 360. I got 10 with a 460 that replaced it and I get 10 with my 429, but with a fully loaded car trailer it will only go down to 9mpg.
Mine has 67000 original and gets 7.5 in stop and go and 11 highway. It's all about tuning, gear ratio and driving habits, so the answers you get vary. Mine does better all around running 93 octane.
It's not the CI that matter so much as the carb, cam, intake, etc etc etc etc.....stock to stock a 360 and 390 would probably be pretty close in fuel mileage
My old 75 F100 with a 360, C6 and an overly huge aftermarket cam (thanks to the previous owner) had very little torque, and got 10 MPG with 3.00 gears. Changing to 3.50 gears and even when towing a car, it still got 10 MPG. It had a Performer intake, 600 Holley and duals off the manifolds.
