That donor truck is pretty rough, rust has taken a toll on it and all the good useable parts will make it's way to something else. As far a sthe crew goes I got some more done to it. I finally got the A/C box mounted for the last time. It fit perfect!

I also picked up a couple of cans of Dupli Color spray on bed liner. This is not as thick as a conventional liner and it worked perfect for the inner fenders and firewall I plan on using this on the underside of the hood as well. Within 20 minutes of spraying it I was putting the inner fenderwells back on.

Current condition of the inside, alot to be done here yet. Today I ordered the window felt and anti rattler kits from Jeffs. Hopefully by the end of next week the windows will be in and the headliner is up.

I also got the heated rear window installed.

Ranger429, how is putting in the back window? I need to replace the rubber in my front and back windows. Been thinking about doing it myself, but still debating. Called a couple window shops and they wanted $200 a window just to put the new rubber and that's with me supplying the rubber.

By the way, where did you pick up the lens for inside the cab? It is NOS? or aftermarket? or....?

The rust will all be gone over time.

Simple. I used a piece of 14 gauge wire in the groove, had my brother on the inside pulling the wire as I was outside pushing the glass in. It went in without an issue. I have installed the front windshield on these myself. Not real hard to do, it just takes patience.

$200 just to install is crazy!

Dome lens came from a guy on ebay selling NOS Ford parts.

Thanks for the info. I was hoping you would say it was easy. I have read a couple other posts on installing windows and I have had mixed feelings.

It's factory "electric de-ice" as Ford called it. The only one I have ever seen. Probably the rarest truck option I've ever come across.

I just found this thread. I love these crews! I have always wanted one. The 70's and 80's ford trucks are easily my favorite trucks out there. Good work on all the progress. Looking forward to following this! I just found an, I believe was a 78 crew cab in pretty great shape. The guy wanted over 10k, and I just can't swing that.

I just finished reading the thread. Looks good. The truck looked really clean and solid. What did you use for paint? basecoat/clearcoat?
