All my stuff is upgraded a bit, so I like to push more voltage to the plugs. The wheeler runs high rpms and I don't think the stocker would be up to the job of 5000 and up rpms for long. But the 94 gets to run the original Ford unit a bit longer.
Which alt are you running? I'm in the need of converting over to the 3g. Did some wheeling this weekend and my electric fan really worked the battery.
Dave you weren't kidding; the dessert really has some nasty spots this year. I went alone so I didn't even attempt half the holes around there. There was one guy down there that was stuck pretty good, so I'm going to run down there today and see if he got out yet. I tried pulling him out but I couldn't get on dry ground and I was pulling dead weight since his truck died and wouldn't start again. Lost cause with my little truck
On my 94, its just the stock alt. But its on its way out, than I'm gettin one off a powerstroke. The wheeler has a 100 amp off a old crown vic, I have a lifetime warranty one on there and it burns it up once a year. That's runnin two Sable fans though. How does your alt bolt on?
I always use to go down there and pull people out. I am in the process of puttin the motor back together for the wheeler, so I'm hopin the weekend before I get hitched I can go wheelin. But just to pull someone out I guess my 94 would be ok. Might get the job done anyways.
Sorry trey! I'm sure you'll eventually make it out.
My alt is the 2 hole mount top and bottom. How does the power stroke bolt up? What amperage does it put out? I was just planning on hitting Johnsons to look for a 130 amp 3g, hopefully get it for 30 bones or less. Than just rewire it in.
See, my 94 bolts on with 3 bolts, so that's why I can run the power stroke alt. So, ur going to have to stick with one off a mustang/Sable or the like.

Gotcha. I was kinda thinking your 94 was the newer style bracket.
Its not against the law to be on section lines, its just some farmers get mad if u rut them up because they drive on them to check fields/cows and whatnot
yep, that's how the 94 is. I've been meanin to get a 3G alt for the wheeler, but I need somettin with a warrenty, because seems like I always burn them up on the wheeler.
Yeah trey I was asking you. Thanks! I'll let you know if I find someone looking.
Dave do you wash them out after wheeling? I've herd that helps a ton. A warranty is nice I guess but at 140 a pop I'm chancing it with a junk yard pull.
