I'm pissed at Accel, 5 months ago Summit sent me a coil for my 94, Last night, I swapped it out for the stock coil. The Accel took a bump, and only has a 90 day warrenty!!
I don't know, I'll call them today. But its been on there for 4 months, and according to their website it only has a 3 month warrenty from date of purchase. I just bearly made it to work yesterday. So there I was in town, 25 miles from my tools, and spare coil. So I had a friend help me get the pickup home, I bought a ignition modual, and a pickup so I would have them if needed. Got home, plugged in the Factory coil, and it started right up. So I bolted that in place, and I can return the modual and pickup, as I didn't even take them out of the box.
ICE you say? I was thinkin about gettin a MSD coil today... I have the plugs gapped abit bigger than stock along with bumping the timing a bit, so a higher voltage coil than stock should be put back on it.
Now you have me worried. I also have a accel coil which is about 4 month old. I went with accel because of all the rumors with MSD having issues and outsourcing their products to china. I wonder if you just got a bad coil.
One thing I've learned from reading on these boards; always keep an extra coil with you in your truck, which I do. Sure hope accel does the right thing and warranty's your part.
I'm going to have a spare with me all the time now. I'm just glad it didn't go out this past weekend. I went to MN to visit family, round trip 800 miles or so. I'll have to look at the box my Accel came in, if I remember right it had sticker on it sayin Mexico or china, or tiwan if I remember right. I'm sure a lot of stuff gets made out of the usa now.
This is the FIRST coil I have EVER had go bad on me. I've seen it happen to other peoples. I even have a Accel coil on my wheeler, that's been there for around 4 years without any issure
All my stuff is upgraded a bit, so I like to push more voltage to the plugs. The wheeler runs high rpms and I don't think the stocker would be up to the job of 5000 and up rpms for long. But the 94 gets to run the original Ford unit a bit longer.
