I bought the truck with 266,000 on it. It was a Ford lease vehicle to a chain of tire stores, who used it in Utah. I think it ran the freeway between two stores about 100 miles apart, towing a trailer regularly.
No Oasis entries for work on the tranny. Transfer case was rebuilt along the way. Oasis shows regular oil changes on the factory schedule. As far as I can tell, i still has the dreaded mechanical diode!
I use the truck for a daily driver, and for now it is lightly loaded. Sometime soon I will be installing a Stahl Grand Challenger service box that I have sitting around. I bought a good running transmission the other day to use as a core. I intend to rebuild it with updates and swap it in before this one fails. Maybe I should have this one bronzed when I take it out.
Welcome to FTE! Sounds like you took good care of it. I had a local Ford dealer rebuild mine at 80,000 miles. I would get a couple of estimates and in the meantime see if anyone on here can recommend someone in or around Belleview.
Thanks I have heard so many diff opinions on what to do. The truck is a 2000 and runs great. There is a aftermarket torque converter manufacture in Deland Fl. Has any one delt with Force torque converters?
that is the highest I have heard. nice job!! My goal is 300,000. what engine is that behind?
Sorry I don't have a signature line, cant seem to find the right location for my information. oops, there it is... When did that show up? the two diesels are 7.3L.
My 2001 took a ride to the tranny shop a few days ago, started shifting hard into 2nd and 3rd, and shift was delayed and way too smooth under heavy throttle. 2nd gear is burned up for sure, they're not sure what else they'll find when they take it apart. 132k on the trans, just glad it happened now instead of December at 2:00 in the morning when we have 10" on the ground...
I know of an ambulance that had 369,000 on a 4R100 when it was totalled in a wreck. The trans had never been serviced.

I think a lot of it can do with driving style as well. Some are much harder where it counts against durability, some easier even if it's generally driven hard.
