Congrats miles, you've reached a great milestone. My wife and I are officially on day one of our tobacco quit today. We are quitting with the help of medication and the $5 per pack price of smokes!
what are you taking? When i quit I signed up for quitnet.com to track how much money I would save and so far, on a conservative guess, I have saved about $385.

Good luck to you and the bride Scott...I hope you can call yourselves quitters!!!
By the way...smokes are in the $7-$8 per pack range around here. I don't know how folks can afford them!!! I'm glad I've never had that problem!!!

You are very lucky to have never started Ken, if I had the 40 years and money I wasted on nothing but a short fix I would at least have a great deal of money. As I had said before about the cost I started off with my habit of snuff at .32 cents a can which came to around $5 when I quit 2 years ago to I think close to $6 dollars now.
Good luck to you Scott and your wife and hope the discomforting times pass quickly.
We are on Chantix... it seems to take away the physical aspects of nicotine cravings. It also ruins the flavor of any tobacco, so cigarettes and chew taste nasty. The only issues right now are getting over the mental aspects of the addiction.
I signed up on Quitnet the first time I tried quitting, about three years ago. Haven't been on since then though.
Good Morning every one both near and far, I have enjoyed this forum and the many good people that I have met and visited with here.
Regrettably there have been personal events in my life that have come up recently that will require my full attention at this time. I will try to get back as when able.
Good morning folks, and thanks Pat. We had a good weekend, very busy and enjoyed the spring weather. The medicine is definitely helping with the nicotine withdrawals, we are weaned down to 2 smokes a day right now. I could probably do without any but my wife is having a harder time than I am. We are in this together, so when we do smoke, we do it together. Another week or two and we should be free.
Sounds good man! The wife and I quit together also, and it was tougher on her too. I haven't had a craving since I qiut, but she still gets them, five years later!
Scott, congratulations on the quitting. I know several people that have taken Chantix with great results. Today is day 39 and I am still one day at a time.
