The job I interviewed with yesterday just offered me the position. I am being put in the exact spot I didn't want to be in. I told them I needed to think on it and they want a decision by tomorrow.
Job I interviewed with last Friday has still not gotten back to me.

Call the first place and ask them, tell them you been offered another job but out of courtesy before you accept it you just wanted to check with them first. put them on the spot.

Exactly! You need to call them up and basically wait til they answer you about if you had the job or not. I know the 2nd one isnt all that great in pay and benefits but you gotta crawl before you can walk sometimes!
I never did like calling people to ask them stuff, if they havent called me first. I personally always thought that would make me appear like I was pushy, and some people dont like that.
That is a good way to put it Tristan "gotta crawl before ya walk" but i think Lisa is in a little different position then that (mind outta the gutter!) Its not like either of these would be her first job.
What i suggested to do is look after number one (herself). I think what I would do is take the crappy job, try it out, and hope that I would get offered the better one. Its not always the nicest way to go about doing it for the crappier job employer, but sometimes it has to be done. Either that or i think (after thinking about it a little more) I might just wait for the better job, and take a chance that I might get it.
I know its not her first job, but moving there and trying to get something in the ballpark of where she was before she left will be difficult. I dont like calling possible employers either. One lady used to call our office when I worked in property management EVERYDAY to check on the status of her application. After the 3rd day I just told her YOU DIDNT GET THE JOB...I had no right to do that but my manager looked at me and said good job! He was getting sick of the calls too!
