Oh I have a few VM already saved in my phone. I played one of them for the lawyer Her face went .
I got the friends and family discount only $175 an hour with a $2500 retainer. The ins co owes me $4K in back pay so we know where a chunk of that is going. But I don't care what it costs or what I have to do to keep J-L with me.
Learn from your dads' mistakes Pete, but I'm willling to bet that you already know that!
My brother asked me two summers ago if I wanted to go 50-50 on renting a tractor and the other equipment to make hay. I looked him dead in the face and told him that he'd better be joking.
Not a chance in the world I'd go into business with anyone but me, myself, and I.
I'd like to let everyone else know that going into business with anyone but yourself is a BAD idea.
Im with Lisa. My cousin kept a journal, more or less a hobby than a legal record, of the times her husband would contact her or whatever else. Well something happened and she said "oh I have it written down in my journal". Well the journal was VERY long and not so much in depth but its one of those things the judge looks at and is like "I know they didnt sit down last night and write 200 pages of this". Almost served as an unofficial record of events and the judge found it very interesting! She kept her oldest away from her father who had taken a turn for the worst.
Yep. Written records are as good as gold in civil cases.
Jim...like Scott said hang in there. We are here for you if you need anything. I am in the process of whipping a lil somethin up for J-L and I may need your address again shortly.
Also Jay I haven't forgotten about sending you some tunes. My comp has been..not behaving lately.

You will ruin friendships and families VERY quick in partnerships...
Buddy of mine owed a tattoo shop in NC and sold it and made a heck of a lot of money when he sold it. He called me and asked if I was interested in running a car stereo shop if he opened one up. I told him I would love to, but if its not run the way I want it to I cant do it. You may have the financing but I have the experience. When its your money on the line you want to do certain things and I just cant do it. I told him straight up to stay in the tattoo business anyways. There was a reason I got outta the business! http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm...ndID=388337110
Theres his shop now...
I wouldnt even let my friends be my employees. They would think they could get away with anything with me being the boss. I love my friends, but business is business and I dont want to ever have to fire my friends so I just never have put myself in the position and it worked out well for me!

Thanks Scott & Lisa. Just venting to all of you has been a huge help. I really appreciate the phone calls to. I had to up my minutes on my phone because between me and J-L using it I would have been way over!
Lisa you don't have to do that for J-L but thank you very much.
Jim in anticipation of this firestorm, if I were you I'd start keeping a journal of everything that happens....I'd even go so far as to start recording phone calls. You never know what she might try topull.[/quote]
This is true my sons lawyer advised him to record all phone calls when he was going through his custody battle
