I don't want to make anyone worry, but y'all are another family, and wanted you to know. It helps to "talk" with y'all about it. The hard part will be the eulogy. My brother is a wreck, and I've been the one to take charge when my Dad wasn't there to do it. My sisters are tough, and my Mom is at peace with it.

My Dad would talk about what he'd do if he won the Mega Millions lottery. My brother-in-law nicknamed him Big Game at one point. But looking back on family holidays, I remember my Dad just sitting in a chair with this little smile, watching. He knew he'd already one, but it was the strength of his character that made it so. He's been married to only one woman for over 50 years. They met & were married within a year. He knew a good thing when he saw it! He could be tough, but was fair, and his children learned that, and the next generation is being taught that too. My Father's body is going, but not him. Never that spirit. Never the true essence of the man. He is too strong for such mortal limitations, and will live on in the generations that follow.

Hi Jaymi-lyn! glad you are having a good time seeing your niece! Sounds like fun...Do you like being an Aunt now?

Hey Brendan, very nice words about your father, sounds like a hell of a guy. I wish I had more words, but I would just hand you a beer right now and sit on our tailgates and talk....I will picture doing that....

My father is gone, but his body lingers, and that is not something he wanted. We'll be taking him home and having a hospice nurse come in to check, but his wish was to be let go when the time came. That time has come. I thank everyone so very much for your prayers, well-wishes, etc. and I honestly am at peace with this, though it does & will hurt for some time to come. He'll probably meet up with Mark and while they won't talk trucks, they'll get along great.

I'm working on a eulogy and know it will be the hardest thing I ever do. If you have time topray for my sisters & brothers, and my Mom that'd be awesome. I have y'all here, and that's a blessing itself.

Sorry to hear that Brendan

Brendan, I think that sounds nice. I don't have a lot of advice for you, I've never had to write a eulogy before.

All I know is, when I think about someone I loved who is no longer here...I love to think about the funny stories..the fun times.

I'd give you a giant hug if you were here.

Hey Brendan...my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

Have a safe trip and good luck with the eulogy.

on a lighter note...Lisa...Woohoo! You clean up purty!

I am so glad this week is over!

I called the cardiologist just before lunch and they had just received the results of my echo...waiting for him to get a free moment to call me back.

If I need to see him the receptioist said they are booked thru the 20th....at least some jobs are recession proof!
