Very different from how we do things around here though.
Around here the roads are all too tight to be able to run setups like that. People have no common sense and no respect for equipment on the road. I was towing a small harrow with a 6410 and I was coming to a 4 way intersection. As I'm coming up to the stop sign there is a telephone pole just ahead of me to the right and there's a dumb chick in a car across the intersection from me. She rolls through the stop sign and tries to pull past me. I can't pull off the road enough to let the dumb broad pass since the telephone pole is there and she's too stupid to realize she has to back up since there's now another vehicle behind me. I had to stop, get out of the tractor, tell her to back up, and then I could finally pull across the intersection. People around here have ZERO common sense.
The largest hay operation around here uses two 2wd tractors (one JD one Ford) with center pivot Kuhn mowers. They hook 2 point instead of to the drawbar and you can use the hydraulics on the mower to get it around corners and through gates. It's pretty neat.
They use 2wd instead of 4wd because they found that the front tires on a 4wd knocked down too much hay when they turned.
I'll see if I can get a pic of the old farm. Nothing farm related happening there anymore, but you can see what it looked like back in the day.
Well my plans to hit Buggs this weekend may have gotten crapped on! Since we are pretty slow in the weldshop, I got to be a machinist today. The parts I'm working on need to ship soon so I;m looking for them to ask me to work the weekend. Not doing anything to technical, just putting some 45* angles on some pieces and drilling and tapping holes. Only thing is, is that its in 1045 steel and its been lazer cut....so its hardened. It wouldnt be so bad, but the mill they have me on is older then me and the table has more slop then a hookers.......Oppps, nevermind!! I'll be OK, just gotta make it the fridge.
In other news I did just order up the piece to fix my truck from Ed.
By the Ed, that looks like a heck of a place to throw down in that pic!
J-L and I just got back from the store. We were getting into the truck and a guy pulls up next to us with a truck. She looks t me and says "Daddy look just like yours an F350" I look at the truck and say "Yup but it's a gasser" She looks back at the truck and with a serious face says" Stupid gassers I only like diesels" I love that little girl so much!!
