This one is a little bit bigger (read: way bigger) than anything most rental places will have. It chewed up a 12" tree no problems today and spit it out in nice little pieces.

Way better that it was a phone that went through the one you rented than an arm!

It's been close to 15 years now, but I used to work for a utility contractor maintaining power line R-O-W. Anyway, we had a Bandit that would take 12" stuff and was powered by a Deere. I don't remember the specs...I just remember if you could get it to the feed rollers....it would eat it and wouldn't slow down. The only down side was turning/replacing the knives on the wheel; a real pain in the tail.

Last night was the absolute worst "showing" I have ever been to..Looking at a 2 year old laying there is not right. I have been to several funerals in my life time, and nothing, nothing hurt like this one did..

Service is today. I dstill cant get the knot out of my stomache from yesterday.

Somebody have something we can add to the coffee this morning.

Pat, our condolences to you and your neighbors. There is nothing worse than losing a child. Over the years, when a tragedy with a child happened, I thought about what I would do if it was one of mine. I never came up with an answer. The Good Lord blessed us with not having to experience even a close call.

We just said good bye to our daughter and her family who are heading back to China to finish their three year work assignment there. With 3 2/3 grand kids half way around the world and that we get to see only once a year, we appreciate any time that we can have with them. Needless to say, they probably got tired of getting hugged. Too bad.

Yep I think that's about accurate, Tom.

Bossman decided to call it a day early today since it's so hot out.

at 3:05 pm it was 105.3º in the shade in my garage.

the thermometer read 117º in the shade alongside the driveway.
needless to say, we did not work today due to the heat.

doing ok. in case you haven't heard, i got me a new job with a local small paving outfit.
the bossman treats us like gold.
i now work real hours. no more 15 hr days, and am now only driving 120-150 miles per 8 hr. day compared to the 4-500+ miles per day at the old place.
the down side is that with only 8-9 hr days, i am only making $800-$900 per week instead of the $2000 plus at the old place.

but with the house only having 4 payments left on it, i can live on the lower pay with ease once it is paid off.

how by you??
have you gotten all settled in back home yet??
