Zhilton... I was at the track in the early 80's when they were just reaching speeds of 325 mph and breaking the 5 second 1/4 mile
that means it has taken 30+ years to gain 10 mph and shave half a second off the time
I was in the pit with the fabrege brut team...got to tour the trailer while they were rebuilding the engine...and was standing way too close when they fired it up in the pit.
its been a long time but I am pretty sure they were running a 5000 hp hemi then.

I've never been to a NHRA Top-Fuel or Funny Car event. I've been to several local tracks/strips and watched the "boys with money" run...and I must say it's impressive. I've run a couple of personal rides upto and around 100-110mph once or twice. But when you put those kind of numbers out there....there's only one way you can top that and it involves specialized fuel and some geeks working in Houston & KSC. Not exactly something just anyone can get their hands on.
Ray...it was 30 years ago...my memory is prolly off
Drag racing was the last motorsports that held my interest.I pretty much got away from it in the early '90s
A few of my friends in Fla still race one of them builds race engines
Morning y'all, looks like the summer heat is back again for a while....so much for another somewhat cool summer like we had last year.

Heck yeah, there was a time I would have traded both my sister & brother for several different things. But that was 20+ years ago. With the right deal, I'd probably still trade the sister for a new truck.
Oh how I miss the days of being an FTE post ho. Ahhhh memories.
