i did not get to the shop today Jake. i will try for tomorrow.
Alright. I looked for that switch but couldnt find it. My truck is a wiring NIGHTMARE. I got a buddy coming up from college next saturday to give me a hand with the truck. And now for the good news SHE RUNS! All on her own I got a vid up on fb i think.
Hey y'all! I can't win for lossing- got back from the desert late Aug, and now I'm back in the Mojave training. Get's cold as chit and night too. One good thing is, you can see every star in the sky! Hope everyone is doing great- well, gotta get back to hangin' out, I mean working
Good to see you on Danny, I was just thinking I hadn't seen you post for a while. Hope all is well and it's good to have you home.

How is everyone doing tonight?
Free is good.
Doing good, but headed to bed now. Been a long week and it isn't over yet. Gotta work tomorrow, which means one more day putting off my own chit.
Me too, off to bed.
Here is some pictures of the job that I was doing today.
The new chains and sprockets installed.
Ready for the timing covers to go back on, then the flex plate.
Notice the head gasket going out around the upper timing chain.
Move it around enough and you'll make a leak, so be careful.
Fortunately it is MLS so it's flexible.
When I left for the evening the tranny was back in.
And I'll put all this stuff back on Monday morning.
Good morning Chris! You should be getting up in just a few minutes...
How's everyone else this morning? I'm off to walk the pups, and then yep, you guessed it.. go for a run. Kinda rainy/crappy out, but still... gotta do it. Been slacking off MASSIVELY the past few weeks.
I did get the boost gauge installed in my Passat yesterday. Dan you might like this one.... there are precious few places to get in to the cabin from the engine bay in a 96 Passat, and they are difficult to get to.... so I ran my boost line down through the grommet for the hood release cable! That keeps everything hidden, which I like. Interestingly though, for a car designed to only see a max of 12psi, I hit 20 pretty easy (though it won't hold it..). And for a set of injector nozzles are on sale for $210 for the SET. :eek
nice Dan....a lot of work to just get to the engine...people wonder why it takes so long!
I started in on it yesterday afternoon. Half the time is "gaining access" to the job these days.
Fortunately they are easy to take down to that point, just a LOT of things to remove to get to that point. My biggest challenge is getting it back in the right order.
Sometimes there are parts the you have to remove just to get another part off and if you don't get it back in the right order, the previous part comes back off to get the other one on, then install the that part again.
I don't do this job often enough to get the routine down, so it's a practice session every time. (Which means it take longer than it should because of all the muddling through and backtracking.)

I think it would be cool to get some pillar gauges in my Jetta, but I've been spending too much money on my truck.
Be careful on which injector nozzle to buy. I've read some stories over on TDIclub about the cheapo nozzle will only give you a bunch of smoke and not much else.
When I get some money ahead, I'm going to drop in a set of those European TDI nozzles you can get at Kerma.
From what I have read, that is the only difference between the 90hp US model and the 110 hp Euro model, is the injectors.
I figure with that, I'm safe, not having to get head studs or gauges.
I'm OK with that, if I want to spend some good money on mods it's going to the truck.
Need to re-do my air horns, they corroded from the inside out and only hiss now, no honk.
That's my plan too Dan; I have the Pissant for mileage, not racing. The Bosio Sprint 520 nozzles are what I'm going to get. These are the 110hp Euro model injectors. $210 for a set of 4... that wouldn't even buy 1 Alliant for the 7.3!
I got the boost gauge mostly just because I wanted it. The pillar pod I bought is VERY far off fit-wise, but maybe with a heatgun & a spare A pillar I'll get a decent fit.
Well, felling kinda crappy today... SWINE FLU!! SWINE FLU! AAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!! OK, now that that's out of the way... I still got in a run... slow, but 4.8 miles. I need to start doing windsprints, etc. Le Parkour (now also known as freerunning.... ) looks like great fun too!
i think i got a good deal on meyers plow stuff today.
C-8.5, C-9, E-47 and E-60 for $450
the C-8.5 is 10 years old and needs a cutting edge, and paint.
the C-9 is around 15 yeard old, and needs nothing.
the E-47 has a new base, and needs a tank o-ring.
the E-60 needs rebuilding. but it came with a kit.
