Man those stock tune curves are choppy as all get out. Looks like you had an earthquake on those runs. Very good torque at low rpms, I like.

I like this graph also.\/ \/ \/ Notice as fuel is added power increases. Very good info.

Seems like I remember telling everybody that same thing. There's a load of power to be gained with a good tune on the V10's. Much more than any crappy CAI or catback noisemaker will get you.

Your welcome. I like the earthquake thought dkf. Actually you can feel the truck starving for fuel and WOT in stock form. Maybe some can't but my butt dyno can even feel it.

Hey Mike, I called your shop today but didn't get an answer. What's the best time to call over there?

Mike
I noticed the same thing on mine, and I attributed it to the restrictive non-pi heads/intake.

Good to hear there is a little hope until I swap the engine. I will be in touch with you for sure Mike.

So, is the Y pipe worth it on a 99 model? Correct me if I am wrong but the charts I looked at show 6hp at best? Can some one show me the 10-15hp gain? Is it at a different rpm other than peak?

I think its worth it in tuned form only. (10-15 hp & Tq to the ground). 10 hp & 15 tq to the ground. Depending on RPM range truck is in. From 2750 RPM and up to 4000 RPMs is best gains and is working range for a V10. To complement the ypipe a set of headers, intake and free flowing muffler would help as well. How much is the question?
For $95 bucks I like this ypipe mod..

Actually everything you just listed is what I want a tune for. I'm having Doug Thorley headers put on next week that come with a y pipe, have a Flowmaster 40 muffler and a K&N filter. Expect a call from me Monday or Tuesday.

Thanks for the dyno runs Mike! Everyday I come closer to getting a custom tune from you but I want to dyno my truck. I may be in the Beaufort, SC with it this summer so....

Here's something you guys haven't brought up.

The eBay guy claims 33HP(!) with just the Y-pipe. He's obviously full of shee-it. Why anyone would want to continue to support his business now is beyond me.

Not bashing by no means, I would want to see a before and after of the 33hp increase. The type of dyno matters as well along with many other variations. After installing this ypipe and driving , I like it . Its a solid mod for anyone wanting a free'er flow reving engine that does not feel constricted.

Correct me if I'm wrong.. That quote is for the T-pipe, the 99 & mid 00 have a rams horn y-pipe, still restrictive but not as bad, this is why we have been waiting for the dyno results for the 99
