Sorry ...couldn't resist. I put a power block on the back of my firewall under the hood so I didn't have to run wires to the battery. Just the one set to power the block.
It took a while but here's my Shelf-It(R) and the mounting for my Texas Ranger TR-366 side-band.

Can you post more detailed pics? I'd like to see the amount of space from the shelf to the ceiling and does the color match the OEM color? I've been thinking about mounting gauges across the shelf instead of the pillar. Thanks!

Sure, no problem. I'll try to take the pics tomorrow. That sounds like a good idea. You'll see when I take the pics but hanging the guages at the rear of the shelf [towards the front of the truck] and under it would put them in a great spot to glance at them but not obstruct your view.

I was thinking of lining the gauges side-by-side in the front of the shelf itself but mounting them under the shelf is a good idea!

Sorry it took so long, but here they are...
LEFT CENTER RIGHT Looking forward OVERALL
The pic looking forward is my view while driving. I'm 5'10", if that helps. Note that the plow is not mounted, if it matters, that's just where I store it. Also note that the visors are not mounted. This is because there're no center mounts for the visors and they tend to move around without them.
Hope these help...

Reason: Addition
The pics do help and I appreciate you taking the time to post them... I think that it will work. Can you install the OEM visor mounts (center) to the shelf or is that not an option?
Also, it look's like the squirrels are enjoying the new mod!
Alright Sarge, back up that camera and take a wider view pic so that we can see the setup in relation to the dash, seats, etc. Also, who makes the unit(s)?
Havis Shields makes it. I wanted the one that goes in the dash as posted above, but I didnt want my truck to look too industrial or like a fire truck inside. I am kind of **** and it took a while and lots of help from the folks on here to point me in the right direction. There is another member on here with the same type of set up.

There's no provision to put the center mounts there but it would be pretty simple to make a bracket to mount there and hold the visors. The whole setup is pretty simplistic really. If I had seen one prior to buying it for $70+ shipping I'd have made one. The pic of the left side shows that there's just a flat piece that screws in where the visor mount used to be and then a flat piece, the shelf, is just screwed into that. If you want, I can make a drawing of the bracket, not to scale but you can figure that out as you like it, so you can see just how easy it is. You could then make a custom shelf or even just make a guage mount that's mounted in place of the visor. The possiblities are endless.
