How did you mount your SCT Livewire? I'm looking for a way to keep it low and "out of sight" and have the California mount. Thanks!
I also had the Cali mount too, but it sticks out to far. So I used Monster Velcro on the top of the LiveWire and put on piece of wood under the backside to tip it out.
I put a loom mount on the piece of wood and dremeled a slot on both sides of the mount on the LiveWire and cable tied it at the bottom.
Here is my Uniden Grant XL, I did the cowl mount like1975StroppeBaja.
Cool! Its good to see another one successfully installed that way.
BillyBob69's install is one of my favorites... I was THIIIIIIIS close to doing mine that way except I scored a good deal on my CD6/MP3 stereo just before ordering the install kit.

Very interesting... I'll see if I can incorporate some of your ideas into my Livewire install. Thanks!
How did you do that, could i do that with my Alpine CDE-9874 and my Cobra Nightwatch?
That all depends on your CB dimensions. If it is really close to the same size as your stereo...then you could, but you would have issues with the mic hookup. They are usually on the side and if you can get to it after it is installed.... Then you may have to get an extension for it. You would definately have to get an external speaker for the CB tho. The speaker is on the bottom of it and it would be muffled. Then there is the issue of the mic hookup itself...Does it stick out too far beyond the side to keep it from sliding in before you attach the mic? If it is on the back, then you have a better chance. But the main thing is to check the the dimansions. See where I am going?
My CB has the mic and speaker on the face of the unit.
EDIT: I see on some nightwatch models the mic is on the front. So just need to check the dimensions
