transmission woes

I have a 2002 f150 small block 8, e4od trans and electric transfer case. since changing
speedo reads 160 kph actual 60kph and shift points way out don't get out of third help please

Which engine? 4.6L or 5.4L?
You've either got a 4R70W or a 4R100 in that truck.
What did you change that caused this?

Johnny: I have a 4.6 L motor, I had a whole lot of 4x4 issues and the end result I went
to a wrecker and got a e4od trans and a electric shift transfer case since changing my
vehicle will go 60 kmph and show 160 on the speedo. I don't believe i"m getting out of 2 nd gear even at that speed. I don't relish a 600 km trip to a dealer to set up shift points or is this something else help help

I don't believe that the E4OD or 4R100 was used with the 4.6L.
Swapping the 4R100 onto a 4.6 that had a 4R70W will give you problems as the ECM is not compatible I believe...

you are right and boy was i wrong the trans i have is a 4r70w with an electric transfer case attached. the problem is my speedo says 160 and i am only doing 60 actual. no one in my part of the country has a program for the computer. I am assuming the wrecker gave me a tran and transfer case out of another vehicle that didn't have 17 inch tires and wasn't a 2002.

Did you use your original VSS or did you use the one that came with Trans/T-case?

yes the original vss is still in my vehicle, what do i do now this was changed in july or august 2008. can only drive out on winter roads in my part of the dcountry northern manitoba

I was thinking that the speedo error was caused by a wrong VSS, but if you used your original it rules that out.

The drive gear on your t-case is probably different.
Do you know what year the trans/t-case came out of?

It sounds like you need to get the right combo of drive/driven teeth.

i cant help you, but i would not think the speedo gears. you are 300% off. gears or wheel size could account for 10-20%. I would bet the computer is setup different for a EO4 compared to the newer 4R70W. Your not close, something is WAY off. I would guess your going to need a reprogram at the dealer.?? maybe a call to them or trans upgrade shop could confirm that.
