For some reason I can't pull them out of my gallery,so I put in the link.I
Had to leave early to meet with the guy who is doing the drywall in the basement so this is all I have.I still had alot of fun for a short time I was there.
You shouldn't talk about your wife that way, Sheldy!
In other news I'm spending the night dog-sitting for 3 dogs. 2 older ones. One is an English Setter. And a puppy who is probably 6 months or 7 months old who is a Britney Spaniel.
The puppy is a total jackhole.
And now for the grinder report:
This morning as we were going out the door the client we are grinding for called and said that their magnet jammed up with material and so did their feed chain. So we went there and they had a 5 gallon pale full of nails from our wood. And it had jammed up because of the magnet blocking the conveyor because of all the nails plus the material size. So I spent my day fabricating and installing a nail chute. The machine already had a magnetic drum that the conveyor rides on. Then we went to start the machine up to test out our new nail chute. Then we couldn't get the grinder clutch to engage without stalling the 500hp CAT even when it was at full bore. So we had to pick all the wood out from around the drum so we could get the machine going. Then after we got it going and started letting it run out off material it started flinging wood a few hundred feet in the air so I had to sprint over to the 6.0 in order to get it out of the line of fire.
It looks like we're going to have to change out the screens to smaller screens. The screens that are in there are 2" screens. We want to put in 1" screens. The screen sits below the rotating drum that holds the hammers so that material larger than the screen holes can't get there. The current one is welded in. And they're good welds. It looks like someone is going to be spending some quality time with a demolition saw to get that out.
Pete, did you ever see how hi a tire flys if it gets mixed in one of those grinders?

would it be possible to lay in another 2x2 screen so that it is offset 1 inch both ways and weld it in...effectivally making it a 1x1 screen?

I don't believe there is enough clearance between the hammers and the screen for that. Plus it isn't a mesh screen. It is a curved piece of steel with 2" diameter holes cut in it. We've got 1" screens, but they'll just be a bugger to get in.
kewl pics Brad...I havent been 4 wheeling like that in many years!
Thanks Mark,It was 25* today and the mud was like glue.My buddy called after I was home and said there was one thrown driveshaft and two differentials blown.
