I agree totally Justin. There should be at least a place to let you run it with someone qualified to teach you the controls. A little 120 Kubota X will kill you just as dead as a 590 deere....
A couple of years back I was wiring an inground swimmimg pool and the homeowner was using a rented backhoe. In the course of the day he hit his house twice with the boom and backed into the kids swingset. He should have put his tie on and went to the office that day.
I was gonna post that link, JD, but I avoided it because of the language the guy uses.
That just goes to show you that you're better off riding it out than trying to bail off.
In all reality you're probably safer in the medium sized machine. There is more steel around you to protect you and you've got glass around you that can help keep limbs inside a safe area preventing them being crushed.
The dozer's a 1997 Dresser TD7H. We put a new Cummins into it not long ago. We've also got that guy's big brother the TD25G hangin around. .
I ran a TD25 when they first came out. They still had manual shift back then,it did have hydraulic blade with a two spool cable unit for pulling a pan (scraper for the new guys).
Sure was nice when power shift was invented
Yes I was an operator (probly couldn't spell it ) and can still hold my own

wow, no kidding. I've worked with some amazing guys, seen some incredible stuff and some really dumb stuff... That being said, this story comes from two seperate sources and from the pipeline in Canada...
Apparently some guys I know were very bored one day, and decided to try this out. You take the biggest excavator you can find, get a guy to run the machine and another to crawl in the bucket. Close the bucket and claw. Then you lift it up and spin it around 360 like a carnival ride.....I wish to heaven I was kidding.....I can only hope these guys dont reproduce..... dumber than nails....
I sure will Pete, I forget how much that thing showed on the value sheet I know it was worth more then my entire plant and the equipment at it. That isn't my usual loader just our tazwell plant loader I usually run our 97 966F but I don't have a picture, we occasionally get the King Ranch Loader .

Almost as bright as the guy who propped a 55 gal drum up on a 2x4 put the aceytelene torch under it with the gas flowing, 10 minutes later he threw a cigarette under it and sent the drum flying. He was promptly asked to leave the job site.
