Darksider Head count

Been wondering just what exactly is a Darksider? Second question are there more Darksiders or Nondarksiders?

I am one. Welcome Jack. I believe if you cross the line you are one, meaning you are not totally committed to the blue oval, lots of modifacations, undesireable power plant, and things that make purist cringe, lol

I'm one also. And proud to say so. Still working on my '49 but will be putting a 350 in it.

The darkside, is a cult of cootie-bobbers who's mission is to rid a ford truck of its identity(chop tops, shaved doors, tilt hoods) and remove its soul(swap engines and suspensions.)

The stock side is truly where its at. The trucks on the stock side don't have to deal with the consequences of their owners sick mind in 10 years when the trucks modifications look dated. Stock trucks are timeless. Most stockers appreciate fuel injection, disc brakes, tilt wheels, and leather seats, we just save lots of time and money and purchase new vehicles for those amenities.

All is not lost with out darkside brothern, they provide many unwanted parts, and often save trucks to far gone to be stock ever again.

Definitely dark on my side of the road. I like it that way.

While I can truly appreciate the timelessness of the stock truck, I always wanted a hot rod. I could have rodded anything, but, IMHO, the 56 F100 is to trucks what the deuce is to roadsters.

I'm not trying to offend anyone. I'm just being the bad boy I always wanted to be. If I had enough hair to grease and comb straight back, I would. But rolling up a cigarette pack in the sleeve of my T-shirt will just have to do.

Hello Everyone.
My name is Dave...
and I'm a Darksider...

Yep, it's kind of like AA except that we don't intend to quit. Instead we rely on each other for support when we dive into an extensive project and start to have doubts. We support each other in the Darkest of times.

I've been a Darksider for over 40 years and I'm proud of it.

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it, so there...

Later Man...

I am one of the lightsiders.

Almost all stock, but a few extras, such as (hidden) power brakes, modern gauges, carpet, headliner, and radial tires.

My original plan (before I found the truck) was darkside while still all ford.

I ended up with one to close to stock to hack up. They are getting rare now.

Hmmm, a closet Darksider...

But hey, if it wasn't for us, who would save all the ones that aren't good enough to restore???

BTW, I thought this was a DARKSIDER head count.
