Hey Miles, I thought when you were meantioning improvised lock school it could quite possibly include hammer and window.LOL! Well at least effort won out but how long before you now change the lock to one that cannot be "jimmied" with a credit card?
Orin, I got really lucky with the lock. All three entry doors have a lock and a deadbolt. When I left the house on Tuesday I must have forgotten to lock the last deadbolt. Conveniently the deadbolt I forgot to lock was on the only door that had enough room between the edge of the door and the door frame to fit a credit card. Just really nice coincidence I guess. Options one was to try to jimmy the door with a... (insert here whatever worked), Option two was to break a basement window and crawl in and option three was to call a lock smith to open the door. I am glad option one worked out. It was a lot cheaper.
OK kiddos...I'm officially announcing the reopening of the Wyoming December B/S thread. The holidays are no excuse to stop slinging it...now...lets get back to it!!!
good morning ken, Pat. For the next few days I do not have internet access at my house so I have to rely on work time to BS with all of you. I hope everyone had a nice weekend and a great Christmas.
ya pat, made a few copies at walmart yesterday. I didn't feel real great about breaking into the house. got everything moved over into the garage on saturday and about 1/4 of it put away yesterday. Had to do a little emergency plumbing fix last night so I didn't get as much put away as I would have liked. The concrete sink faucet finally gave up the ghost after 63 years.
I think it lasted since it is a cast iron faucet. It is pretty cruddy looking inside but a .69 cent pack of 1/4 beveled washers got it to quit leaking. And when I say leak I mean there was no noticeable difference between off and fully open. I think for the time being, the race truck is going to have to stay in Wheatland. Once things get a little more settled, I need to go talk to the dentists next door and buy the vacant lot they own that is between us. If that works out we can build more of a "shop" instead of the "garage" we have now.
I am not sure what racing is going to look like this year. I read the minutes from the last track meeting and it didn't seem real promising. The county commissioners have been trying for about 5 years to sell the track to developers so the county could make more taxes on a sub-development. They finally realized that in this economy that no one wants to develop anything, so the commissioners have decided to back the track again. The only problem is that the track is pretty much broke from recently re-paving the track and not getting the car turn out they expected. Looks like we are doing fundraisers for the rest of winter so we will have a place to go.
Douglas Motorsports Park. Seems to be the same dramatic thing every year to get people riled up and then it is always the same in the end, there are ten weekends and everyone has a great time and the money thing works out in the end.
we try to make at least Sunday at every race. they have races every two from May until September. It is a little harder now since gas is higher and the truck is faster so we have more broken parts.
I used to go to the drags here a lot on Sundays, when I was in high school. I raced whatever I had at the time, my 69 camaro, my 71 Mustang, and a 69 cougar I had for a while. That thing was a blast, it had a 390 and a straight axle front end. It was a ratty car, but it was fast!
It is a pretty addicting sport. More so for me that any other sport I have played. If I had to do it all over again, I would have never painted it and kept it a little ratty. Flat black primer would have looked cool.
where are there tracks in Nebraska. I would like to go to as many as possible. For me it is the most fun to race at places I have never been to and meeting the new people.
