Well, there was one just west of Omaha, the Nebraska Motorplex. that's where I used to race. It was just outside of Scribner, Ne, but they closed it a year or so ago. Why, I don't know. I know there is a strip outside of Kearney, Ne. That's about all I know.
I miss racing. It was an absolute blast! Yeah, it did get expensive when things broke, but I always thought it was worth it!
Only been to Bandimere once and that was for Pinks in August. We have also been to Julesberg a few times. Mostly just stick to Douglas because it is so much closer. Looking to go to Kansas City and Famoso before the old man gets to old for it.

My cousin, who lives just outside of KC, used to drag race down there a lot. I used to go down there, and we would go cruising in Independence, Mo. We both had 69 Camaro's at the time!
Never got real warm here Orin but there was not a breath of wind all day. Just got all bundled up and go the work done. It felt pretty nice to be outside working for a change. Got a few pics of the place before the real work starts. I think my plans are bigger than my wallet however.

Hey Miles, finally able to check these out. Man, those are some WILD colors!! I'll try to never mention the dishwasher comment, should I ever meet you G/F!!!
Good morning Miles, Pat, and other travelers both foriegn and domestic. Thought I had better stop by for a minute and let every one know I survived the holidays and am still considering heading for a new year. Sounds worse than it is but this week I have to do 5 days worth of work in 3 as there was a lot of last minute.
Miles that race track in Douglas has been on the fire more than once for something for what it seems like forever. It's kind of a laugh though because everyone around there got to belly aching about all the noise the air plane's made when it was a air port and every one heaved a sigh of relief when it wound up way out of town but all of a sudden you have this real nice abandoned runway that would make an exellent drag strip and the rest is history.
Pat that car you was telling about that had the straight front axle was most assuredly old school. One thing about them the front wheels could be set for pitch and then left as they would never change unless there was an immediate stop against something. At least I guess that was how I understood it at least.
Its going to be light soon so I had better hit it, have a great day every one.
Good Morning Orin, Miles, Ken, and the Wyoming chapter! Orin, that cougar was a blast, but it didn't turn worth a damn, so it was pretty much just for the track. I also drilled out the front shocks, so it would carry the front wheels pretty much through first gear!
good morning all. I am having a heck of a time getting motivated today.
Pat, we are currently living in the lime green room. We are going to tear out the carpet in the finish attic, paint it and make it the master bedroom. After a while we are going to start in the purple bedroom. Plan to replace all the baseboards and quarter round, both doors since they are broken, the door and window casing, a little plaster touch-up and a fresh coat of paint. Also want to add a little shelving unit to area between the two closets and little things like replace the light, power outlets, switches and switch plates. I think we can do the whole room for $500 and make a $3000 difference in the value of house. From there we can do one room every couple months until we reach the basement. I would like to do it all in drywall and while we are down there I think it would be a good idea to upgrade the two wire electrical and replace the old galvanized pipes with copper water lines.
Orin, you are exactly right about the track. We have been racing there for about 8 years and we always here the same thing this time of year.
I don't know, Miles. Those colors look pretty good............NOT!!
Man, someone had odd taste in colors!! It's amazing how the little things will make a difference. And your right, change the wiring now. Nothing worse than dealing with electrical issues. If you can, that would be first on the list. And replacing the service box if it still has screw in fuses.
I think the bedroom colors were picked out by the 4,8, and 13 year old children. I am thinking some nice neutral colors.
It has a pushmatic service box in the basement and a two year old 125 amp main outside. Most of the wiring is 5-10 year old romex except in the basement.
That's good about the wiring. That sucks pulling wire! At our last house, we had a 35 year old fuse box, with those stupid screw in fuses. If we hadn't moved, I was going to replace it. shouldn't be too tough to do the basement.
