here latly i have heard of about a 534 stroker, put together with basicly stock parts, and just the basic machine work. boring a block 80 over how long will that last , isnt ther heating problems
it's actually a 532, 4.3" stroke, 4.440 bore (.080 overbore) it is done a lot but best to sonic test the block first. a lot of the blocks will go that much but I wouldn't trust a block without a sonic test personally.
As to using stock parts?? well not really, aftermarket crank, rods and pistons. I know you can get cast steel cranks pretty reasonable, set of eagle or scat Hbeam 6.8" rods and off the shelf pistons or you can by a rotating assembly from several different places easy enough. Me personally I would just do a 521 (same combo except only .030 overbore) wouldn't have to worry about the sonic test.
400-700, thats way to open of a question it depends on what your willing to spend, what heads you want to run, if you want to run race gas or pump gas, do you need to pull vacuum, on and on. You really need to be a lot more specific if you want answers for stuff like that.
I'm running Trickflow Aluminum Heads so that was $2K and the stroker kit was $2K on my 521. That was just a start. I didn't get a chance to have it dynoed, so I'm not sure of the HP/Torque.
hi, why not just build a mild 460 to easily make 500 hp
Ttrue. If you're on a limited budget just build a stock stroke 460. Get some SCJ heads or P51s from Kaase, build it right, and you'll make more power then you thought you needed. 500-600hp, with 500+ ft/lbs of torque is easy with 460c.i.
And all you want is 450.
And it'll rev like a small block.
