The only hammer I will use is a Vaughn 26oz corrugated face. I tried a Plumb fiberglass when they first came out, but you know a steel handled, or fiberglass handled hammer will ruin your elbow over time? Course nowadays everyone has gone to guns, but when I was a "kid" framing in Los Angeles guns were for girls. A good framer back then could one lick a nail, not even set it first, but literally drop it and sink it in one swing. Of course this was when framing walls, not joisting or toenail type work. Before sinkers we used to gas and wax our nails, made em slick as snot on a door ****, but if the inspector caught you he would make you re nail the entire house.
Scott in a different life I would love to work at a place like that. I love fabbing stuff.
You and I both, Dan. My best years with the company were in the fab shop. I loved that job and actually miss it. I spend a lot of time there still, just visiting. The guy all the way to the right in the photo is now the supervisor over there. I hired him in '01. During his interview I asked him, "Where would you like to be in five years with this company?". His answer.."I'd like to have your job". He does have it now.

I love welding pics too. Something about the arc and all of the fire. So much energy in one little spo. I have another photo taken just seconds before that one that is really interesting. You can see the arc just starting. I will post that one up a little later.
Hope everyone is good today. I am GREAT. This afternoon, I get to hand out the bonus checks to my crew. I love this part of my job, rewarding people for a job well done. It's the best day of the year, in my opinion.
Going to go and pick up my flares today after work too.
Or you can right click on the photo you want to shrink, go to the "open with" selection and open it with Microsoft Office Picture Manager. Once in there you go to Picture on the menu and then Compress Pictures. A selection of item will open on the right and you just compress it for web, and then save it to what ever you like so you don't over write the original. Once your done, close the program and don't save, you don't want to overwrite the original one. Here is a quick pic tutorial.
