I had to say that, I know where he works and how much Typar they have/sell there.

I drove by his work today on my way to the block plant.

The rock is cheap, the trucking bill to get it to where you need it is more than the rock is.
25 tons rock, 200 dollars
Delivery bill, 300 dollars
So 500 dollars gets you 25 tons to your door.

I prefer asphalt. The uh.. broken up kind.. from roads and what not. When it compacts its just as good as paving your driveway and what not. Just alot cheaper.

Not here, they are recycling the asphalt when they mill the roads now.
Big reduction in the amount of tar and gravel needed to make new.

A couple years ago they would give it to anyone for free, now you have to pay almost as much as you would for fresh asphalt.

Man i about wet my pants when the term mallcrawler popped into my head, then i thought of you! Not implying anything just that you would get a kick out of it!!!! Later Cheeto, and bye the way you are still a ......... , well you know! hahaha! talk to ya brother! Dan

I think our rainy season started a while ago.

So we went from dust today to mud for Monday.

And Cheeto is mad, his roof leaks.
So now his project is all wet.

So im contemplating on a spring hanger design for the front. What do yall think? Itll be 1/4" Plate welded to the frame and 6 additional bolts on the outside and 4 on the inside. All grade 8. Thought bout curving it where the right angle is. Like just a curve from the bottom to the part goin back instead of makin it look L shaped. Any ideas?

I say look at your steering before you build the plate. Could make for an uneven surface to mount the box to.

One other thing: POST MORE PICS!!!! I love buildups-never get tired of them, especially the 70s trucks.

Here's how Scott Freeman built his. He has an early 70s frame under his truck. His is completely bolt on.

I built a VERY similar one for my forest service Dodge, but I used 3" channel for my sideplates. My theory was that is resisted bending better than flat, and it also protects the bolt heads/threads.

As far as steering im using a 78/9 F-250 4wd box that mounts on the inside of the frame.
