It's fill from the bed John. Shortened my column 2'' today. Now I'm havin a heck of a time fishing the turn signal wire thru it. they were really tight coming out. I'll leave the signal switch out for the time being. I have to take it all apart again to modify the opening at the top of the column. It will be easier to do once the column is back in the truck. Working with the DD shaft in the vise is akward. I can't put the column in the vise. Back at her tomorrow. I'll try to remember to take some pic's.
Good morning everyone, pissing down rain again and thundering, checked the weather forecast and depending which one you check it's between 60% to 90% chance of rain and thunder showers. So much for the car show I was going to attend but don't feel like traveling 400 miles for a wash out.
Can't wait for you to see the sun Grant, will give us a fighting chance of seeing it too maybe the next day at least.
Yesterday was overcast most of the day, with no wind. I was able to weld up the shortened inner column tube in the driveway, without the wind blowing away the shielding gas. Having the garage door open while I'm working slows down the progress, due to neighbor's dropping by wanting to chat. It;s raining here now, so I should be safe with no interuptions.
Morning everyone. I've been quite busy lately, finally got around to installing my lift kit. I'm only half done right now but slowly getting it done. I ended up breaking a banjo bolt that connects my drivers side brake line to the caliper but I got a new one already sent on the plane along with some more brake fluid to replace all the fluid that leaked out. Hopefully at least get the drivers side leaf spring changed today and have the passengers side ready for tomorrow. Hope everyone is having a good weekend
Grant, no update. Still limping around on 7 cylinders. Ended up getting another pile of work from this new customer so I just couldn't make time to follow up with repair with the 14hr days. Monday I'm going to do two small jobs, material runs and drop trailer at job. Give my truck to my buddy and he'll scan with Ford computer on his lunch break for me. That'll give me the complete analysis AND the last one to change. Which I'll do Tuesday night at home, of coarse praying there nothing more wrong than just that.
Heading out shortly to do the AC clutch bearing. Gotta get rid of that annoying squeak!!! The eX turns 11 next month. Have my sled shock guy lined up to rebuild all the Fox shocks hopefully next weekend
Randy.....can't wait to see ur truck all done!!! Awesome to hear your doing yourself!!
Any one know where I can find torque specs for an 05+ super duty suspension. Need the radius arm bushings, leaf spring front hanger bolt, and both rear shackle bolt torque specs. I'm gonna assume the radius arms around 200-250 ft-lbs and the leaf spring front hanger bolt being north of 100 for sure. The rear leaf spring shackle bolts have to be around 100 ft-lbs I'm guessing??
Hear ya go Curtis. This week: fuel tank, rear brakes and cables, bleed brakes, make floor plate for steering column, shorten steering column, install guages, and a bunch of misc stuff
