No topic thread,,, Part 2

Nope, don't know what your talking about

Even if your bumper height (front lowest part of the metal) is lower than 29" they will do the "track width" calculation on ya. Quick run down, your width of your tires center to center diveded by the height of your frame (highest point usually by rear wheel **including any body modification**)
72/40= 1.8 score. Anything lower than that and its a fail.
**Don't quote me on the actual score, it may have changed since my last VUI visit**
Last visit my bumper was 28.75 and score was 1.805
They instantly check for Cat and muffler.
Width of vehicle if your spacing: has to have flairs covering wheels and if you end up over 81" in width **not incl mirrors** marker lights (5) on roof required and (3) on rear.
I will note, LED's they check for. If it's not factory lenses or lights with the "DOT" marking on them its a fail. They even checked my headlight bulbs for the DOT mark.
Interestingly enough, mud flaps AKA "splashguard" been ticketed for several times but fought and won.
VIU passed my truck without splashguards. (not in their regulations/requirements) 3 times i've been through that place.
HTA (city police) require them and police it. I totally respect that.
But until their 2 different books of "regulations" start reading the same and both are on the same page i'll always fight that ticket.
I will say, 90% of the time they will leave you alone. I requested to be in the VUI station after I bought my truck and got the 1st letter to bring it in to learn what the reg's were so I can do the right thing. . So either way, red flags are raised when someone calls it in or they (VUI inspection unit) actually pulls you over and does a roadside on ya. Looking back, I had the registered letter for inspection a week and a bit after I bought the truck so there must have been something more to it. I know it was called in by someone and what date but no idea who. (MPI shouldn't go for coffee when the customer is still wondering around the shop...hehehe)
[quote=Fomoko1;14263923]Today it feels like snow and more like late fall then late spring.

When is it going to break, been freezing the last couple days.
Morning Gerry!!
Gerry, when is your new 2015 gonna be ready??
That is a nice looking Super Duty you got! I just have one question, if its a gas job why 4.10 gears for 37s? Why not the 4.30s?

There pretty picky I gotta say.

Have I missed anything???

If you get a ticket or pulled over for being to high, could you remove the body lift? Those 35s should still easily fit with just a 6" lift.

Randy, yes the 35s do fit without the body lift. Added the 3inch body lift with the thinking of adding 39s after getting the 250. Looks like to keep 150 legal the highest I can add is 37s.
Got 4.10 over 4.30 on my 6.2L simply because of wait time. Living where I do, the swap of a 4.30 which had to be ordered would have taken two weeks longer.

35s are cheaper than 37s as more companies produce the smaller size. Also you might get tire rub on mud flaps as I did and was forced to remove flaps. If you already do not have flares then flares will be required. Also from what I have been told, 37s are a "red flag" for a cop to request an inspection on height. Most guys I know run 35s so not to be hassled.
I might actually purchase Pro Comp Xtreme MT2 in 35s and install on 250 and move the 37s from 250 to 150 once 150 passes inspection.

I enjoy having a true 10 ply tire and these Pro Comps saved me from being stranded once while off roading.
