If your glow plug relay is working, i believe the rest of them will work. I know I have read posts before about people having problems with one or two that were burnt out, and they were asking whether they should replace them all or not, and the answer to that is always yes! 9that way you know they are all good)

listen,
if 1 stops it just slows the cycle time down instead of 15-20 seconds 1 will slow the cycle down to about 10 seconds. the more you have burned out the less cycle time.
if turn the key on and watch the wait lite, and count. if the wait lite comes on and goes right out yes you have a problem and you can hear the relay cycle. if you have more then 3 glow plugs burned the cycle will be fast. and there are ways to test them.
when or if you test them yourself be careful the injectors are fired with 110volts! and the glow plugs are only 12vdc. just make sure you unplug the glow plugs before testing.

Thanks Jack.
My 92 is not a PSD, a straight 7.3 with mechanical injectors, no 110 volts.

yeah,
i know, that should be the old version and the glow plugs are still on the intake plenum side a little more accessable than the newer version. the newer version or the true powerstroke glow plugs are under the valvecover next to the injectors. your 92 should still have an injection pump on it yet. like the 6.9l or the 7.3l. the powerstroke didn't debute until 95' thats when they went electronic and did away with the injection pump,
and fired the injectors with 110 volts. but plugs are still 12vdc.
just trying to help! hey if i can't work on them i can atleast tell how to do it!!!....

Thanks Jack. From the way mine starts, I say I have three out I don't have a garage at the moment or really the back to tear into it.

I had a funny happen the other day. The old girl was putting out her bug fog as she was super cold, and I idled it from my apartment into the bank line. I had a painted up old lady get out of her car and walk up to my passenger window and demand that I turn my truck off. She said the "EFFING" diesel was killing her. I just smiled and told her to roll up her damn window as I rolled mine up with her standing outside just "B" away!.
