It's the 800ho, I'm still hooked on the lightness of 2 stroke
I don't think I would bother with a turbo, unless I was going to tune it.
I'm with you there. Hence my 800 RMK hanging around. When it melted down last season, it cost me less than 3000 to completely rebuild it, top and bottom end, with some sweet performance upgrades from RKTek.
My cousin back in NL has a 800XF, converted from Polaris, he thoroughly enjoys the XF. Hasn't had any issues with it other than some recall that involved a full tunnel replacement? Hard to beat that Suzuki 800 twin for dependability.
The Cat M-turbo interests me with 250+ hp that is very affordable to get.
Truth be known, my assault is like an extension of my body. I've tried riding other styles/brands/etc, and nothing came as natural to me as my RMK.
If your gonna tune a turbo, it's the way to go bang for the buck. I've actually haven't had much to whine about with my cat, the 800 is a big reason I bought it, for sure a proven motor. I did the tunnel upgrade too, the old tunnel was holding too much ice.
How many k did you have are yours when she burnt up?? One thing about my cat is it takes work in the powder, had mine two years now and it doesn't behave all that well in a coupe feet of snow...., but it's not really a powder sled, so I dunno. I always hear the rmk handles awesome in the deep stuff.
I think 2700 kms when it went down. The PTO side bottom end bearing spit the cage out through the seal and it sucked snow in [cold seize] melted down the PTO side piston and cylinder, scored the crap out of the head too. I ride hard (in my mind), but I use the best of oils and fuels available to me, make sure to properly warm up and cool down, maintenance is a huge thing for me.
The RMK is a phenomenal beast in the deep. I've ridden a few other machines that always try to "right" themselves when you are carving in deep powder. The RMK is effortless both in carving left/right, and returning to level/transitioning from left to right.
Honestly I laugh at Ski-Doo having to re-invent a suspension to have a machine handle near what the RMK does with a "conventional" style. However, the E-tec motor is said to be a thing of beauty with its performance and supposedly fuel efficiency also. Cat would be my next choice of sled...been eyeing them up for some time but have such a connection with my RMK that I always feel guilty when looking at other sleds lol. Weird I know, but sledding is more than a hobby, its a passion...

Reason: spelin
Had a great day at the mominlaws doing some chores for her. Found her an early x-mas present. $200 walkers on for $75 bucks at crappy tire!! We almost bought a used one off kijiji for 70 bucks.......SCORE.
Worked some more on the mancave this morning, home and stocked up the fire, cracked a 6.9 Rockstar, CRANKED up 99.1FM for retro night and checked in here.
Sadly I noticed it's time to put the AVR7000 to rest. Surround and sub out aren't working anymore. Time to upgrade to a digital Yamaha amp and it just so happens Vision's flyer I found while getting the stove stocked up somehow got set aside.
I see their carrying Yamaha amps and Polk speaker combo's.
Now to figure out how to put the bug in the wifes ear and sabotage the amp in the house.......hmmmmmmm.....lol.
You guys have a great evening whatever your do'in.
