I always thought that reputation points were deserved when a member contributed to the forums by posting a helpful post, something of knowledge or specific to the forum you're reading. I think it's dumb that people give out reputation points just because it's the time of day. Not that im complaining or trying to make a big deal of this, but ive been on here for a long time and ive done alot of posting to get to where i am at (446), and some of you get it like kids who are trick-or-treating.
I totally agree, but you can't really put this thread into your thinking. This is just a goofball thread. You want to see some real idiots with thousands of reps, cruise through the Club for few minutes. I am not even sure some of them even own a Ford, let alone a truck.
Ever run in to a situation where someone deserved rep points several times in a single day? I sure have, but the system they have here limits how often you can give them out.
What happened the the Kris that could take a joke with the best of them? Dude, I'm twice your age and half as crotchety lately. Hope things improve for you soon.
Sorry if it comes off as i am a crotchety (funny word!), i don't intend to be, i guess im just different from everyone else as seeing it as a waste of bandwidth to this server, and a free way to fatten up your "rep status" and get alot more post count. I guess i'll just get over it and stay out

You might want to keep in mind that this forum is every bit as public as the rest of them. The assumption that nobody else reads the 7.3 section is a mistaken one. Just because people use the reputaion system differently does not make tham an idiot. Nor does posting in the club make one an idiot.
You are free to disagree and argue with whomever you choose, but I would appreciate it if you would refrain from name calling.

If it will make you feel better.....I can go search out a helpful post of yours and rep you there. I rep people that deserve it, there's lots of us on here that always offer helpful information or knowledge. And if they happen to get the rep they DESERVE on another post....then so be it. Lighten up a bit.....it's a green dot
If the reps we have and the number of post we have means that we get a new DP-TUNER for 7 green boxes and 6,000 post, then there would be a problem with the way they are passed around. I look at it as something fun. I damn sure don't know more because of the post # or rep count.
And yes, I am going to rep Kris, because I think that was a good post.

That is definitely the truth. There are some extremely knowledgeable people on here that only have one or two tic tacs. We all know how this works. I liken it to a high school popularity contest...it's not necessarily fair, but it doesn't mean it's wrong. We aren't blind to those who are smart, or those popular because they are fun to be around or throw the best parties.
The rep system is a free exchange, and the very minute the forum starts regulating how reps are passed out is the very same minute this will cease to be a fun place to hang out. I have also noticed, as some have suggested, that reps are handed out, not necessarily because of something they said on a specific thread, but because someone has noticed their efforts collectively. I think Travis was referring to that.
I happen to rep those whom I find to be the most helpful, or funny.
