Well here is a story similar. I came home Friday in the evening but far from dark, probably 5-ish. I was home for about 45 minutes and my son comes and tells me the dogs are missing. I have an American Bulldog named Penny, and a Rat Terrier named Piddle. I go outside and see the side gate is open. My Bulldog is neurotic and does not like loud noises. Apparently the neighborhood kids where lighting stuff off and she figured I'm going to grab the 1/4 inch thick rod that holds the chain link to the fence frame, and twist real hard, so hard that it pops the gate open(after bending the solid rod that i would need a vise and some decent leverage to bend and certainly not as tight a radius as she did).

I found the little one(Piddle) 2 streets over, but couldn't find the big one (Penny) after an hour or so riding around the neighborhood. Now I have had that dog for almost 11 years now(next month) and she has gotten out many times but never goes anywhere. My daughter is almost 11 and she has always had this dog. She wasn't taking it too well. I told her that we had 2 things going for us, she had her rabies vaccination tag on and she is neurotic, so if someone finds her and puts her in their house, she is going to freak out when the fireworks go off, and try to eat her way out of their house.

Well, the next day(Saturday) sure enough, I get a call from a lady, who tracked me down by my veterinarian's office (who gave her my name, address, home and cell phone numbers by the way. I am going to have a little chat about that tomorrow). Her brother is a State trooper and found her out on the Baltimore beltway. He loved her and wanted to make sure that I was a good owner or he wants her back. He gave her to his sister who lives 1 county and 30+ minutes away from me and then drove to Florida for vacation. They took her to the Vet and had her checked out and everything. I was tempted to let them keep her. They would be calling me back within a week I promise. So happy ending for my daughter I guess. I would have missed her, but I wouldn't have been too busted up over it. My kids on the other hand...well they would have been upset for days I'm sure.

Im usally an a-hole so I dont go around jumping up for girls.
That is a very good description of me as well.

Glad you got your dogs back!! I would be having more than a little chat with that someone who gave your info out.

Positive or negative chat? If I lost my baby I would very much appreciate someone telling the finder of her how to locate me.

Negative chat. I agree I would be very happy if someone found my puppy and tried to find me but the vets office should have called, not given his info out to some random person. I would not want my info out there.

Oh well, I thought over my post and thought about editing it, but the finder most likely talked to some minion at the vets office, and the minion did not really give out any damaging info, such as ss and so on. So I may be right, I may be wrong. I suppose the correct way for it to have been handled was for the minion to call Jason first and ask him what he wanted them to do.

my $.02: You know that the world has come to a sad state when you have to negative attitude for something like that.

Not saying it isn't warranted, BUT back in the day when I had good looks and lots of brown hair, you could leave ALL sorts of personal data lying around, It wouldn't get mis-used, and generally someone would have found it and given it right back to you.

Maybe things that are progressing really aren't after all.

I wouldn't be too hard on them. It seems like both the people that recovered the animal and the vets office were acting in what they thought was your best interest.

Try leaving your name and phone number on a $20 bill and see who is the "good samaritan"

I can see that statement drawing some unneccessary comments.

I'm Sorry If This Is An Old One???

But we're ready for another joke, old or new.

Train ticket - outfoxed again
<hr style="color: rgb(209, 209, 225);" size="1"> <!-- / icon and title --><!-- message --> Three women and three men are traveling by train to the rugby match.

At the station, the three men each buy a ticket and watch as the three women buy just one ticket.

'How are the three of you going to travel on only one ticket?' asks one of the men.

'Watch and learn,' answers one of the women.

They all board the train. The three men take their respective seats but all three women cram into a toilet together and close the door.

Shortly after the train has departed, the conductor come s around collecting tickets.

He knocks on the toilet door and says, 'Ticket, please. The door opens just a crack, and a single arm emerges with a ticket in hand.

The conductor takes it and moves on.

The men see this happen and agree it was quite a clever idea; so, after the game, they decide to do the same thing on the return trip and save some money.

When they get to the station they buy a single ticket for the return trip but see, to their astonishment, that the three women don't buy any ticket at all!!

'How are you going to travel without a ticket?' says one perplexed man.

'Watch and learn,' answer the women.

When they board the train, the three men cram themselves into a toilet, and the three women cram into another toilet just down the way.

Shortly after the train is on its way, one of the women leaves her toilet and walks over to the toilet in which the men are hiding.

The woman knocks on their door and says, 'Ticket, please.'

I'm still trying to figure out why men ever think they are smarter than women.

I always thought that reputation points were deserved when a member contributed to the forums by posting a helpful post, something of knowledge or specific to the forum you're reading. I think it's dumb that people give out reputation points just because it's the time of day. Not that im complaining or trying to make a big deal of this, but ive been on here for a long time and ive done alot of posting to get to where i am at (446), and some of you get it like kids who are trick-or-treating.
