WOW, 30+ tunes a night, thats great. To get back to my original question, I'd like to hear from folks that received these tunes to see how there doing, especially with the newer VXCF4X3 strategy.
That's the one I'm looking for also, I can't get a response from Evan either...
I'm just going to forget about it..not worth the aggravation. Good luck!
Been anxiously waiting to see how the new tunes were working out but nobody on this site claims to have recieived any.
Funny huh? I wonder where those 30 tunes a night are going?
Do yourself a favor and just let it go...it's not worth it! for less than a full tank of diesel you can get tunes from Eric @ Innovative and you will have them in minutes.
No it's not..IMHO try Eric at Innovative Diesel, you will get your tunes in a day or two! AND..He actually answers emails! I can't get anything from Spartan!
yeah if you are in a hurry, you can guarantee to have your tunes from eric usually the same night, or next day at the latest.
i've run tunes from spartan, and innovative, and they are both good tune writers. for me, when time is important, it was well worth it to spend the money and have eric write me tunes, than to wait for tunes from spartan that are already paid for...
I'm pretty sure that is what he had intended as well, unfortunately though, because I truly don't "know" what he had intended unless he specifically says it(especially true on an internet forum), I have only what he writes to go on. Based on that, he blocked quoted the person that wanted to know Evan's email and then just reponds with an email address, the implication being that he was answering the guys question and giving Evan's email, which he wasn't doing(and I suspect(although don't know for certain) did that on purpose). Had he said something like: "Don't waste your time with them anymore and try this guy instead" and then the email address or something to that effect, then I would have left it alone. Yes it's extremely picky(something of a reputation I have gotten) and to more then a fair share getting a little old with the users that have been around a good bit and have had to deal with me in threads, however for better or for annoying it is what it is.
I received every unstudded tune from Evan for the my new VXCF5H5 strategy. Only ran Hybrid and agg. tow w/brake. Much better than the old tunes. Up on HP and TRQ, better shifting. One thing I noticed about the new hybrid is that it doesn't have that huge surge of power when the throttle is barely touched and the engine is still cold. Only towed about 7k so didn't really get the feel of the tow tune yet.
What I did was emailed efoster@spartandieseltech.com, and asked for tunes and a response that my emailed has been received. 3 days later I received 10 new VXCF5H5 strategy tunes, every single one they write for an unstudded truck. Anyway, good luck they are tough guys to track down.
After running the updated VXCF4 tunes, I will say that the Agg Street has more power than before but my mileage is still down. Shifting is also a lot less aggressive but Evan left the option open to increase the line pressure to firm it up.
I wonder if there's still an issue as to why us VXCF4 guys cannot get the mileage benifit from tunes...
In the market for a SCT but dont know who to get it from. I want about 3 tunes. What are all the updates everyone is getting and who should i get my tuner from??
