Glad you got it going again. You might want to give the wire harness connection a good look at. That water should not have gotten in there to start with. Did you decide to keep you truck?
yes, for right now I am keeping my truck. I only wish it was 4 wheel drive. It gets stuck easy on my job site. And I would love to go to work and not worry about where I am parking.
What type of work do you do? Construction, landfill, work at a mine? These diesels do have a drawback, they are heavy on the front end making them prone to getting stuck easier than a gas powered truck. One of my best friends loves it when his brother burries the front end of his 04 4X4 in mud. He goes out there in his J-20, drives circles around him laughing at him, then he pulls him out. I must admit, his J-20 is one of the nicest jeep pickup trucks you'll ever see considering it gets used on a regular basis.
As for tires, my Dad has a set of Cooper Discoverer SST's on the rear of his 2X4 chevy. They look kinda funny on a 2 wheel drive, but he really likes them.
With the rising fuel prices, I am seeing a lot of trucks for sale. Keep you eyes open for a good 7.3 with what you want on it. It seems to be a buyers market right now.
There is used dealer here that i have seen him drop his prices on all of his trucks anywhere from $1000-$3000!!! He has a F450 or a F550 crew cab with an enclosed utility body. I have seen that one drop $2000. The worst part is I won't buy chit from him. I did some work for him and had to take him to court to get my money. I bought 2 trucks from him before that!!
I'd like a truck with more of the bells and whistles that were available in '03, but my entire drivetrain from the radiator to the differential are so perfect I would be afraid to walk away from it even if I could afford to grab one of today's good deals.
