pressure washing engine is overrated imho. been doing it for years with no ill affect. granted i dont stand over the electronics on full blast, but you get the drift. i think you have other issues. did you just buy the truck?
I can't add anything other than what anyone else said, but at least i can say hello. Welcome to FTE, stay around here and you'll find alot of good stuff you can do to your truck...Don't know what youre trading it in on, but if it's another 7.3, come back here, we can help you spend your money....
glad you asked kris cause i was gonna wen i got done reading through everything. O, by the way, WELCOME TO FTE!!! you'll love it here. not sure how the 6.slow forum is but i know its great in here. curious to see what your problem is, but i had a similar situation when i pulled my turbo. Mine was the 9-pin connector on the valve cover. I'd say check that... just my $.02
Kris, trading it in on 2004 F350.. I am 36. this is my first diesel truck and I love it. I wouldn't drive anything else
Do yourself a favor...keep your 7.3 and run from that 6.0....unless you like to stay up til 10 o'clock at night chatting on diesel forums on how to fix your truck. biggest mistake you'll make in your short 36 yrs.
Did you ever double check all your electrical connections? 80 psi isn't that much, but it may have been enough to knock a plug loose. The rough running has me thinking the 9 pin connectors on the valve cover. If there are any holes or cracks in your drivers fender liner and you sprayed that real good the IDM could be suspect, but water there dries out and it's been long enough you shouldn't have an issue any more.
Have you checked your engine oil, and the oil level in your HPOP? You can see where the plug is in Barry's photo. The injectors fire off of engine oil so it's always good to rule that out as a possibility.
We pulled oil pressure switch on top of the high pressure resvour. shouldn't the engine light come on after doing that? Also we pulled the 9 pin, cleaned them and reconneted them. One was full of diesel. It is sounding better but still will not start. Batteries are good.
I just skimmed this thread, but did anyone mention to her that she needs to clean and dry her battery terminals and connections? If there is a pocket of water that creeped between the connections and the terminals of one of the batteries, it could cause a no start situation.
I'm with Chris in double checking all of the electrical connections, starting with the batteries first.
Good call ray. Maybe it got fried and that's y it will crank and not start. I fried mine trying to stack chips (go ahead and say the stupid jokes, they're allowed haha) and mine would crank no start. lildieselgirl, do you have a wait to start light come on when you try to start
I thought of the wet PCM first thing this morning but did not post anything. Take a shot at blowing compressed air at the connection on the firewall and see what happens. If it's fried this will do no good of course.
