I was reading a Diesel Power mag this evening and saw this Buy Now
Made me think about how it wouldnt be too hard to do this yourself and save 150 bucks. I would think you just have to eleminate the power going to the vacuum solinoid. My thought is a normally closed relay hooked up to a switch to hit when you place the selector **** in 4low. Maybe one of you guys that has a little more knowledge of the esof system could chime in. I have not ever needed 4low where it didnt hurt to have the front axle turning, but the option might be handy.
Thats funny, I think I read the same add and figured there has to be a way to make this for cheaper. I know several have put a switch inline with the vac solendoid. I am more looking to find a way that I have to do nothing for 4Hi, but since 4low is only used to back up the trailer and don't need 4wd, I'd like it setup to when 4wd low is select, it is effectively 2wd low and have to manually activate a switch to engage 4wd.
I think it can be done relatively easy though, for me I should say, I will keep and update on progress for it if you would like. Right no the switch is setup with 3 resistance values that determine what mode you are in. I've been thinking of going to a junk yard to get a switch I can modify another pole on so when 4low is selected it will be open but in the other two positions, closed.

That would be an interesting way of doing it. I use 4low from time to time pulling trailers out the mud(sometimes I dont park them in the best place), so for me I would rather have an additional switch.
