Oh, sure George, just torture me! What I wouldn't do for one of those cars! Hey, there is a 1966 Fairlane on Ebay, a 428 police interceptor with dual quads...oh, yeah, it's the ONLY ONE EVER MADE! Some exec at Ford had it made. The guys selling it has the whole car history and documentation. Now THAT would be a Fairlane to have, and I bet it hauls!
Hey, is that the guy with the K-code you said might be coming to cruise night?
When I was in the Navy, I had a 68 Torino GT that I bought from some guy for 500 bucks. Car was in really good shape, the guy thought it had a cracked block. Turns out just a blown freeze plug! Some a-hole stole it from me when I was out on the ship. I'd love to have that car back-390 four speed!!
Wow, that would have been a really nice and fun car Pat. That sucks about having it stolen.
You may have already mentioned your plans in a previous thread, but I can't remember and I'm too lazy to search, but do you have any plans on what you are going to do with that awesome 67 Truck.
Well, if I keep it, and that's not for sure right now, the plan is to pull the six, replace it with the 390 I have. Not sure what I'll do for a tranny, but it will at least be a four speed. The color is up in the air also. Probably blue, since I already have black and red trucks. I just need to get the final major house project finished up, then I'll have to decide. If I sell it, I want a 66 or 67 Fairlane. I'd love to drop a 427 in one, but I don't have that kind of money, so I'd have to just build the bajeezus out of that 390.

Find a 428 crank have the heads redone with the valves enlarged to SCJ size with a RV cam that will give you a stroked 390 to about 410 or just buy a stroker kit.
Thomas knows what he's talking about. Don't do what I did (overcam) as you will regret having no bottom end.........sure pulls like a mother above 2500 though.......
I guess it will depend on what you want to do with your truck if i can come up with the money that's how i would go since mine is for offroading which means it goes slow so i need the torque at low rpm.
Good Evening guys. Might be the way to go Thomas. Like I said, I'm still trying to figure out if I'm even going to keep it or not. It would be mostly for cruising in, but maybe some off roading if I take it out to Wyoming.
Gary, glad you got some camping in.Get a little wet on saturday??LOL. Where did you go?
Grins would like to see you use it for offroading in then you have everything covered and you would not have to do alot to go that route some 33's or 35's at the most maybe a lil regearing and you can do it over time too maybe some lockers.
I'm sure when the time comes, I'll come asking you guys for suggestions on this. It's been quite a while since I did any motor work (about 15years) so I'll need all the good advice/help I can find!LOL
