Hey Jake, how goes it? Where you been hiding? Hey, been trying to beat these guys over the head (with a nerf bat) to send their pics to you for the photobucket site.
Hey George. Been awful quiet in here tonight. I've been out harrassing the guys from Delaware, and wandering around the diesel forum. Just found out this stupid outage is going to last another week. Grand. June 1st is our new start up date.
Sorry George! We call it a refueling outage. We shut down the plant every 18 months to refuel the reactor, and do maintenance inside the containment building that we can't do online. We were supposed to be back up on the 24th of May. That's why I've been on here every night. Usually, I work dayshift, 4-10's. But during the outage, I'm working 7-10/12's. Yeeha.
I'm not sure what Cooper is doing right now Thomas. We might have a few of there people here helping us. I'll have to ask. We get alot of people from other plants that help with the outages.
We did our major rebuild in the fall of '06. Replace reactor head, both steam generators, low pressure turbine, main transformer. They cut a huge hole in the side of the containment building to get the major components in and out. First time (and I'm sure the last) I've seen sunlight in the containment building!
