I like this. It is making me thinking of doing it myself now. I wonder do you have to replace everything, do you have to replace the base that mounts to the door frame or is it just the mirror part. I have power, heaters, w/ turn signals I think the driver side mirror dims a green color when cars are behind me. I wonder if these new mirrors have that option.

which ones

I'm getting ready to order
7L3Z-17682-AE - Right
7L3Z-17683-AE - Left

I use the Oem parts search
TascaParts.com

Do I order from the Collision Catalog or the OEM catalog or are all the mirrors the same?

I want power, puddle, heat, turn.

I have a 2008 F150 XLT with power mirrors now.

Thanks for all the help this site has been great and I'm glad to be a member now.

Rulioo make sure you post something after you put the new mirrors on and tell us how difficult they were to install. I would like to put those mirrors on my truck but would like to see some feedback on how the switch went first.

Ordered from the OEM catalog, I'll post when once I have them on.
I just took the inside apart (steering column, door panels, trim) to install a new audio system and a python 991 alarm. It was easy, so installation should be a breeze.

Sorry it has taken so long to respond. I was on vacation, however I got to try my mirrors out when pulling my boat. They are awesome. The blind spot mirrors help out SO much when driving. You can see a car disappear into your blind spot in your regular mirror, then look down into the blind spot mirror and there it is! It is nice when I came back from MI and had my crew cab stacked to the roof with stuff so much that I couldnt even see out the side windows.

Install was fairly easy. I did a really nice job on mine so by taking off the door panel you cant even tell that I had to add a wire for the puddle lights.

You must remove your door panels on both sides, both kick panels, and both sill panels. The kick panels and sill panels will help expose the wiring so you can tap into the interior dome light circuit for the puddle lights.

After you remove the door panels, there are 3 or 4 nuts holding the mirror on (my 04 mirrors had 4 nuts, the new 07 tow mirrors had 3). It is a whole assembly, you cannot replace just the arm part. And you will lose your dimming feature, and your memory feature I believe.

The mirrors I put on are heated, power, signal, with puddle lights. Since my 04 did not have puddle lights, I had to add a wire for them which took alot longer.

If your truck has factory puddle lights, and is an 07 or 08 they should be plug and play. Since mine was an 04, I had to switch around pins 2 and 8 I believe, and then add a wire for puddle lights, and route it down to the kick panel where I tapped in for power.

If I can be of any more help, please let me know. Thanks

all i have right now is standard power mirrors, no extras. Will I need to do anything else or is it plug and play?

I have a 08 XLT Scab, no puddle, heat, or signal.
But I don't care about heat.

Pete94, what do you mean you will loose the dimming and memory? Do you mean the rear view mirror or for me I have the driver side mirror that dims. Will I loose the dimming driver side dim?

ruli00 is correct, the trailer tow are not dimming, and I do not believe they are memory either.

If you have only power right now, and want to add signal mirrors, you may have to add wires for the signal, however I do not know that for sure. You can get trailer tow mirrors that do not have signals on them though. So you can always go that route

Honestly I would like the dimming feature too, however I LOVE the tow mirrors. They look awesome and I would consider them very valueable for the function of a truck.

Yeah I do like them a lot. It will probably be some time if I do the tow mirrors as of right now I don't have anything to tow. I will be buying a travel trailer down the road.

there on and look 100% bada55

They ad 10 inches to the overall width of my truck when retracted, have not measured extended yet.

I have a 2008 XLT Scab with just power mirrors

Power, puddle, and signals were all plug and play no pin moves nessesary. Heat does not work as I did not originally have heat, but I live in florida its hot all the time.
