Obviously the small pyro is the post turbo and the big one is pre. And yes, I know the hpop gauge is mounted ghetto fabulous. But I'm going to mount it under the cowl hood when I get it. I wanted to see what the 17* was doing with big azz stage 2's.

30 looks good. Thank you for bringing some real data this debate and putting it to bed. Amazing how common it is to read bad advice on this and other boards that you just add 300 degrees. You're the first since I've been on this board to show the real world difference. You guys with post turbo pyro's pay attention and move your probe.

EXCELLENT CODY!! This is just what I need!! Looks be alot more than a 300 degree drop when your skinnin cats!!
I ran the numbers here are the split in temps

idle- 25*
60mph- 150*
accel- 425*
Hammer down- 500*

These numbers are though a stock turbo with 3" downpipe right? I don't feel that programming, injectors or anything else comes into play with these numbers. Stock mainfolds, up-pipes and exhuast housing with 3" downpipe are the factors.

Thanks Cody!!

BTW what did the HPOP gauge run you? Is it mechanical or electric?

PS I tried to rep you but you know the story!

Yeah, wide open there's just over 500* difference. That's pretty major. Not to mention, I had no idea these 2's were so hot. And they aren't even running right yet. And 30 is just where the gauge stops. LOL

Cody I would guess once you get programmed for the 2's temps might come down some. Right now you are running stage 1 pulse width on stage 2's so your fueling more than the PCM thinks. I may be wrong, it has happened once before (yeah right!), but you might be plesantly surprised. If not I will have a little project come up in a few months that will make you happy!

Yes, 3"dp stock turbo. Your welcome Tim. Sorry it took so long. The HPOP gauge was like $240 with the harness and pigtail which will make a real install a breeze. And it is electric off the ICP.

RD, Where did you get the HPOP pressure gauge? I remember one coming out a couple months ago but it was way expensive.

Do you think the gauge is necessary with running big oil?

Nice pics. Tried to rep as well.

Good job RubberDuck, you sure put a lot of controversy to sleep. There is nothing like pix.

I was doing research on a cool down timer and the one sold by Dieselmanor
instructs that the probe be placed in the downpipe and to set the timer at 300*. Well hells bells I always shut at 300* but that is pre-turbo.
I'll try to send reps your way.

How hard to switch the gauge sensor locations.
In other words swap them so you can get an average and see gauge error.
500*F is common pre vs post with mods.
