fuel filter light

What causes the fuel filter light to come on? Low fuel in the bowl,right? My fuel filter light comes on when I really get on it. I have brand new pump. fpr shimmed to 65psi. What gives? Its just telling me its time right? But I just changed the filter 3 weeks ago! Bad filter maybe or clogged screen for fpr, or just is what it is! It doesn ' t bog or hesitate at all when it comes on and goes out when it shifts. Any ideas?

I used to know a guy that had a 94 that would do that but only on the back tank? he never did find out why it did this

could it be a bad sending unit?

Didn't you answer your own question when you posted the thread re HPOP?
You got Algea! That in its self will plug the filter. Change the filter again and I'll bet the light stays off. (For a while)

thanks kawa I going to give it another whack of shock and biocide too. Hopefully it will cure it !!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the FF light is a vacuum switch but either way yes your algae is more than likely the problem. The FF light comes on when there is too much restriction in the filter.
