soo basically a quick discussion i guess a while back i shimmed my FPR and i get blowing the fuel filter o-ring out...what could have been the reason for this?? just too big of a shim?? i havent put a shim back in since that but i was just curious on why it would hav been doing that..it would just blow the o-ring right out of the fuel filter lid...
nah wasnt that much worried about it lol....i was just curious on why it woulda been doing that, maybe my superchips already jacked up the fuel pressure

The fuel pressure is not controlled by the PCM. Injection pressure is controlled, however, by the PCM thru the IPR.
You're talking about the big o-ring at the lid as oppossed to the drain o-ring right? What method do you use to tighten the lid. Don't ask me how I know, but if it invloves tapping on something inserted in the webbing of the fuel bowl lid, the o-ring tends to bind and be prone to blow out. Now I use a fuel lubricated o-ruing and pair of channel locks opened wid and inserted in the lid webbing to tighten things down evenly and I have no problems even with my FPR.
you need to put a gauge in the fuel bowl. when i shimmed my fpr it took 9 different screw heads to fine tune it to where i wanted it. those factory pumps dont like above 100psi. ive got mine around 75psi. the gauge allows you to keep trying and stop guessing.
there is a plug in the back of the bowl that is easy to get at. i have left my gauge in just to be able to monitor the pressure.
i leave the gauge under the hood. its not pretty but it will allow me to check the pressure and monitor any changes.
you need this to set a pressure that wont kill your pump.
i think you pinched the oring, very easy to do, espically if you tried cleaning it with some spray or stretched it with a rag.
