I believe that 14 to 1 is about right for running on propane although that maybe a little high. When a gasoline engine is converted to propane fuel the power and mileage is about 10-15% down due to propane needing higher compression to operate efficiently.

best i ever heard was that its better to run those old carb'd boats in proper tune, and keep em running like that, keep those cars longer and overtime they will still produce less harmful emissions than buying cheaper modern throwaway cars. becuase of they way they are built and there seemingly limited lifespan, plus its a lot harder to fully recycle a modern car compared to an old boat thats made of lots of steel, some fabrics and a touch of plastic......
