many 300-I6's ran to real high miles. a lot of them could outlast a diesel.

I could see them being comparible to some diesels, but I know in the 7.3 forums there is a few trucks with over a million on them!

Heck, if you can get over 300,000 kms out of a gas engine in a work truck I figure that`s darn good.

300,000 km is a pretty good mark for any engine really. Thats alot of running time!

well, my '96 had 279000 on it when i traded it. it was a calgary truck originally, one owner before me. its still going strong. i think i could have hit 400k with it barring any misfortunes.

Yeah the cold starts play a factor on engines up here. Makes me wonder sometimes how many extra kms of wear a guy would have on his engine due to letting it warm up and whatnot. I bet it would add up.

hard to say. hour wise it adds up. i wouldn't call it miles, but there's not much strain on the engine/tranny when its idling...

I know with Snowmobiles if even once on the new rides you don't let them warm up you'll mess em up just like that.
