3.73 in the 9" that i got from ryan and an option to change the pumpkin out for 3.25 if i wish. In regards to cracking: it is possible to have it crack and still be runable. Just have to keep in mind that ther isnt too much material between the cylinder walls and the water jackets in the block or in the heads

ill run it and see how it goes, worse case senario i take ryan up on the offer and switch to 3.5 or 3.25 gears. No biggie, hey remember you telling me that you had a new fuel tank for your stang(s) were you planning on using it or was it one of those things you happened to get and might not use. Ill be interested in it if its for sale. It would save me shipping and duty.
boy all these sounds of the oldies getting complete makes me think of a sweet convoy comming to the yorkton cruise night this summer... anyone up for it??
Not trying to be a jerk here but if you don't defiantly know that you want a Flathead you shouldn't use one then. I suggest Prep you just stick with the modern system, I appreciate that you see the value in a stock truck, but save yourself the hassle.
You know you would want a flathead when the thought of any other motor disgusts you.
A joint plan with my uncle is to put a flathead V8 into a 9N with the Sherman step up gearbox. its in the works, might be a while till i get to it, but it will happen
speaking of tractors...did they ever put the 300 I6 in a tractor??
Never heard of a factory tractor with a pickup style motor. But Ford inline motors 240 & 300 industrial versions were VERY popular in swathers. New Holland also used a 300 in a combine.
The 300 was used in everything almost but Don't recall a tractor.
Speaking of Flatheads I really hope my new head gaskets come on Wednesday sure be nice to back it out of the shop all restored soundin perfect.... one can dream.
AND then maybe get to rebuild my 352 before back to work, oh now I'm excited.
