dam ur truck must be loud. try a hedmen header from summitracing.com, cost around $120. they also sell a hooker super comp header for the 300-i6 but its like $400. but if u wannt go the cheap way out just port the exhuast manifolds its aid to flow like a header.

I would just keep the manifold and do as described or if you could go to the local yard and find one off and 87 or up and try the dual exhaust manifolds. Port them though.

he said he has a 95 so he does have the dual manifolds, all EFI engine came with (altought who knows with automakers), but getting a junk yard one and porting it might be better if u wanna return back to stock.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 07-Sep-02 AT 07:33 PM (EST)]if i ported my exaust manifold would i still have enough backpressure wit the straight pipes to keep from burning up my valves

most likely yes, unless ur running 3" pipe. most engines dont require a substantial amount of backpressure to run (except 4 bangers)

How do you port the EFI headers? I have just located some for my '67 and will get them on soon. I picture having to somehow scribe the outline of the exhaust openings from the head onto manifold to a pretty exact match, and then grinding out the manifold openings to the scribed marks, and polishing the inside of the manifold somewhat.
Is this right? (This is how I remember it from magazine articles).

So how do you mark the hole openings of the manifolds to match that of the head? Can I use a drill with a stone burr to do the grinding and polishing? What are the easy ways to do this job? Jay James
