I have been all over the forum reading posts about the headers. I have a all out project I am building, so just any header won't do! I need full length 351c 4v headers for this truck. Does anyone know of a header that may fit in the truck chassis? This engine is all out race with 4500 stall, so the shorty version of header from sanderson won't breath enough. If anyone knows what or where I can get a set please let me know, I already priced custom built from scratch, very pricey!!!! Also the 2v version header isn't big enough, ports are smaller then the 4v.
I have the same problem trying to get 4V headers to fit a 79 half ton that I am putting a built 351 Cleveland into. The best suggestion I ever got was to buy a set of headers for a mach 1 mustang and cut or build your own to fit using the flanges?!!!
Better off buying and building a custom fit set yourself - lots of work though I'm sure. Let us know how you make out - your right the problem is exhaust port size.

What size of tubes were they? I am trying to find some headers for a 400 with 351c 4v heads in a 79
F-150, can anyone help? darwinbredthauer@gmail.com
thanks

If you are going to be stuck doing headers anyway, the way you want to go is not longtubes, but rather triple-y headers. More power across the entire powerband versus long tube headers. PS, what makes you believe that shorties won't work? Shorties excel at exactly what you are trying to do.
